Job Title: Post-Silicon Validation Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Post-Silicon Validation Engineer to join our hardware engineering team. This role involves validating and debugging complex SoCs or mixed-signal ICs after silicon manufacturing. You will work closely with design, verification, DFT, and test teams to ensure product performance, functionality, and compliance with specifications through lab-based testing and analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute post-silicon validation plans for analog, digital, and mixed-signal IPs and SoCs.
- Design and automate test setups for functionality, performance, and stress testing.
- Use lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.) for signal integrity, timing, and power measurements.
- Debug silicon issues by analyzing waveforms, logs, and failure patterns, and provide root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with design and verification teams to drive bug resolution and silicon fixes (ECOs).
- Write Python/MATLAB/LabVIEW-based automation scripts to improve validation efficiency.
- Document test cases, procedures, results, and validation reports for internal and customer use.
- Perform silicon characterization across process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) corners.
- Support bring-up and system integration activities involving FPGA platforms or evaluation boards.
- Participate in customer debug and yield improvement efforts when required.
- Support pre-tapeout activities such as validation readiness reviews, DFT strategy, and board planning.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in post-silicon validation, RF testing, or mixed-signal test development.
- Prior exposure to ASIC/SoC design validation, board bring-up, or silicon characterization is highly desirable.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of digital/analog/mixed-signal circuit behavior.
- Proficient in using lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, VNAs, AWGs, signal generators, spectrum analyzers).
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, TCL, or C for lab automation.
- Familiarity with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, MIPI, etc.).
- Knowledge of RTL design (Verilog/VHDL) and FPGA prototyping/debug is a plus.
- Analytical and structured problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional, multi-site teams.
Must-Have Skills:
- Solid understanding of analog/mixed-signal IPs: RFIC, ADC, DAC, PLL, Oscillators, Voltage Regulators, Temperature Sensors.
- Post-silicon validation and debugging experience on real silicon or evaluation boards.
- Experience with PVT testing, statistical analysis, and corner case validation.
- Proficiency in lab instruments: Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Signal Generator, Power Supply, DMM.
- Strong automation skills using Python, MATLAB, or equivalent.
- Solid knowledge of SoC/ASIC architecture, clocks, resets, and power domains.
- Hands-on experience with bench-level testing, PCB schematics, and soldering/debugging.
- Exposure to signal processing, RF, or high-speed serial interfaces is a strong advantage.
- Good grasp of semiconductor fundamentals, signal integrity, power analysis, and board-level validation.
