Job description

Role Summary

As a Sr. Technical Product Manager – Financial Reporting (Payments), you will shape the future of how sellers understand their cash flow, profitability, payouts, fees, and tax obligations. You’ll lead the evolution of eBay’s financial reporting ecosystem, simplifying complex payment data, unifying fragmented systems, and delivering intuitive, customizable insights for every seller. By leveraging AI and advanced analytics you’ll surface actionable insights such as order‑level profitability, fee optimization opportunities, cash flow forecasting, cost‑saving recommendations, and personalized growth signals.

In this role you’ll transform compliance‑driven reporting into predictive, insight‑led tools that help sellers reinvest wisely, reduce expenses, and scale more profitably. Your influence will span engineering, data science, design, legal, tax, and operations across a global, matrixed organization.

Desired Skills
  • AI‑Forward & Data Fluent – understand how AI, analytics, and automation transform financial data into intelligent insights, including predictive signals, anomaly detection, personalization, and decision‑support systems.
  • Collaborative & Influential – thrive in complex, matrixed environments, align engineering, design, data, legal, tax, and operations around a bold vision, communicate clearly across all levels, and create clarity and momentum across distributed global teams.
  • Strategic & Future‑Oriented – think in platforms, not features; develop a long‑term product strategy grounded in customer value, competitive differentiation, and evolving industry trends in fintech, payments, and commerce.
  • Customer‑Obsessed & Insight‑Driven – deeply empathize with customers, understand end‑to‑end financial workflows, and build products that reduce friction, increase trust, and turn financial complexity into clarity.
  • Relentless Executor – combine bold thinking with disciplined execution, operate with urgency, resilience, and strong judgment, and deliver measurable business impact.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of product management experience building data‑intensive, fintech, payments, or financial systems products at scale.
  • Experience translating complex financial or technical requirements into intuitive, high‑impact customer experiences.
  • Strong understanding of payments, money movement, reconciliation, reporting systems, and/or tax workflows.
  • Experience working with AI/ML‑powered features, advanced analytics, or data platform teams.
  • Proven ability to define and execute strategy in cross‑functional, global, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong analytical skills with comfort interpreting large datasets and driving data‑informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to influence without authority and make complex topics simple.
  • Experience operating across global markets and regulatory environments.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
