LexAnalytico Consulting is seeking a highly motivated Senior Patent Associate to join our IP team. The role focuses on patent searching, analytics, drafting, and prosecution, with independent project management across multiple technologies.

The candidate will work with global innovators, Fortune 500 companies, startups, and research organizations on patent strategy matters and portfolio protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in engineering, science or technology.
• Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent) preferred.
• Registered Patent Agent required.
• 5–8+ years in patent consultancy, corporate IP dept or IP law firm.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patentability assessments and prior art searches across domains.
• Lead advanced patent analytics projects: FTO, invalidation, landscape studies, EoU, portfolio analysis.
• Draft high-quality patent specifications including claims, abstracts, and drawings instructions.
• Review disclosures; advise on patentability and protection strategies.
• Handle patent prosecution across multiple jurisdictions.
• Provide strategic IP advice on protection, portfolio development and commercialization.
• Mentor junior associates and ensure quality across work.
• Manage multiple client projects with high-quality, timely delivery.
• Stay updated on global patent laws and emerging technologies.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in patent searching, analytics, patent drafting, and prosecution, with the ability to independently manage client projects across multiple technology domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Patentability Assessments and Prior Art Searches across various technology domains.
• Execute advanced patent analytics projects, including:
  • Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) Analysis
  • Patent Invalidation Searches
  • Evidence of Use (EoU) Analysis
  • White Space Analysis
• Prepare and draft high-quality patent specifications, including complete specifications, provisional applications, claims, abstracts, and drawings instructions.
• Review invention disclosures, identify inventive concepts, and advise inventors on patentability and protection strategies.
• Handle patent prosecution.
• Provide strategic IP advice relating to patent protection, portfolio development, and commercialization.
• Mentor junior associates and review technical work to ensure quality and consistency.
• Manage multiple client projects while maintaining high standards of quality and timely delivery.
• Stay updated with developments in global patent laws, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology, preferably in:
• Computer Science
• Information Technology
• Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Telecommunications
• Electrical Engineering
• Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
• Related disciplines
• Additional qualification in Law (LL.B. or equivalent) is preferred.
• Must be a Registered Patent Agent.
• 5–8 years (or more) of relevant experience in a patent consultancy, corporate IP department, or IP law firm.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in Patentability Assessments and Prior Art Searches.
• Hands-on experience with patent analytics projects, including FTO, Invalidation, Landscape Studies, EoU, and Portfolio Analysis.
• Excellent patent drafting skills with the ability to prepare technically and legally robust patent specifications.
• Experience handling patent filing, prosecution, examination reports, and Office Action responses across multiple jurisdictions.
• Sound understanding of patent law, patent prosecution procedures, and broader Intellectual Property principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple assignments while meeting client deadlines.
• Strong client interaction and project management skills.
• Familiarity with global patent databases and search platforms such as Orbit, PatBase, Derwent Innovation, Google Patents, Espacenet, PatSnap, or similar tools.
• Exposure to IP management systems (Anaqua, FoundationIP, Patricia, Equinox, or similar) will be an added advantage.
