Charles Schwab Hyderabad is hiring a Support Engineer–Site Reliability Engineering. You will lead the AWAT Technology Operations team, focusing on stability, automation, and proactive tooling to support critical advisory and asset platforms.

You will own incident response, observability, and reliability improvements in a Fortune 500–backed environment. You’ll collaborate across teams, mentor engineers, and drive scalable SRE practices in a fast-growing Indian center, shaping operations from day

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of relevant industry experience including leadership of engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of reliability, scalability, resiliency, observability, and toil reduction.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams, mentor juniors, and champion SRE practices to improve reliability and scalability.
• Define, measure, and improve SLIs, SLOs, and KPIs for production systems.
• Lead incident management, problem management, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
• Work with monitoring dashboards, alerts, and logs across Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Automate operational tasks using Python/PowerShell/Java to support troubleshooting.
• Collaborate on CI/CD and engineering tooling (GitHub, Bamboo, Atlassian).
• Support cloud/platform environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes).
• Diagnose production issues across apps, infra, and distributed systems.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders and participate in on-call rotations.
• Work in a regulated financial services environment focusing on secure operations.

What you have

Key Responsibilties

• 8–10 years of relevant industry experience, including experience as a Technical Lead responsible for guiding engineering teams, mentoring junior staff, driving technical excellence, and championing SRE principles to improve reliability, scalability, and operational maturity.
• Strong understanding of SRE principles, including reliability, scalability, resiliency, observability, automation, toil reduction, and operational excellence.
• Hands-on experience leading incident management, problem management, change management, root cause analysis, post-incident reviews, and continuous service improvement practices.
• Experience defining, measuring, and improving SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, KPIs, availability, performance, and reliability metrics for production systems.
• Proven ability to work with observability and monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Datadog, Grafana Cloud, OpenTelemetry, ThousandEyes, or similar tools, including dashboards, alerting, logs, metrics, and traces.
• Proficiency with one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, C#, Java, JavaScript, Bash, or Shell to automate operational tasks and support troubleshooting.
• Experience with CI/CD and engineering collaboration tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Atlassian products
• Experience supporting applications hosted on cloud or platform environments such as PCF, AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, or container-based platforms.
• Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar technologies, including query execution, scripting, and production support.
• Proven ability troubleshooting skills across applications, infrastructure, integrations, end-user workflows, and distributed systems, with the ability to diagnose complex production issues.
• Deep understanding of incident life cycle and strong background in incident and problem manage
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues, risks, workarounds, and resolution plans to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to participate in rotational on-call support, respond to production incidents, and drive timely restoration of service while maintaining clear stakeholder communication.
• Experience working in a regulated enterprise environment, preferably financial services, with a focus on secure, compliant, and reliable technology operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
