Job summary

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals seeks a seasoned Compliance professional to support internal investigations into potential violations of the Code of Conduct, policies, laws, and ethical standards.

The incumbent will lead investigations into misconduct, fraud, bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, harassment, data privacy concerns, and other compliance issues, ensuring objective, confidential, and well-documented processes with timely reporting to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct internal investigations into allegations received through whistle-blower channels, ethics helplines, management escalations, audits, or other reporting mechanisms.
  • Assess complaints and allegations to determine the scope, nature, priority, and investigation approach.
  • Develop investigation plans, identify key stakeholders, and establish timelines for completion.
  • Conduct interviews with complainants, witnesses, and subjects of investigations.
  • Gather, review, and analyse relevant documents, emails, financial records, electronic data, and other evidence.
  • Ensure proper documentation and preservation of investigation records and evidence.
  • Maintain independence, objectivity, confidentiality, and fairness throughout the investigation process.
  • Prepare clear, factual, and well-documented investigation reports outlining allegations, methodology, findings, evidence, and conclusions.
  • Present investigation findings and recommendations to the Head of Compliance, senior management, and relevant governance committees.
  • Track investigation cases from initiation through closure, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Maintain appropriate investigation documentation and case management records.
  • Monitor implementation of corrective and preventive actions arising from investigations.

Job description

The role will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Compliance function in managing internal investigations relating to potential violations of the Company's Code of Conduct, policies, applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

The incumbent will conduct and support sensitive and complex investigations involving allegations of misconduct, fraud, bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, harassment, financial irregularities, data/privacy concerns, and other compliance violations. The role will ensure investigations are conducted objectively, confidentially, independently, and in accordance with established investigation protocols.

Internal Investigations
  • Lead and conduct internal investigations into allegations received through whistle-blower channels, ethics helplines, management escalations, audits, or other reporting mechanisms.
  • Assess complaints and allegations to determine the scope, nature, priority, and investigation approach.
  • Develop investigation plans, identify key stakeholders, and establish timelines for completion.
  • Conduct interviews with complainants, witnesses, and subjects of investigations.

Whistleblower & Speak-Up Programme
  • Support the management and administration of the Company's whistle-blower and ethics reporting mechanisms.
  • Ensure complaints and concerns are appropriately triaged, investigated, and closed within defined timelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protection against retaliation for individuals raising concerns in good faith.
  • Analyse investigation and whistle-blower trends to identify recurring themes, control gaps, and potential compliance risks.
  • Support periodic reporting to senior management and the Board/Audit Committee, where applicable.
Compliance Risk Assessment & Remediation
  • Identify systemic issues, policy gaps, control weaknesses, and compliance risks emerging from investigations.
  • Recommend appropriate remediation, disciplinary action, process improvements, and preventive measures.
  • Partner with HR, Legal, Internal Audit, Finance, IT, Security, and business teams on investigation-related matters.
  • Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Support the development and enhancement of investigation protocols, whistle-blower policies, and related compliance procedures.
  • Assist in developing training and awareness programmes on the Code of Conduct, Speak-Up culture, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Keep abreast of emerging regulatory requirements, investigation methodologies, and compliance best practices.
  • Demonstrates the highest levels of integrity, professional ethics, confidentiality, and sound judgment.”
Education
  • LLB/ CA/ LLM
Experience
  • Approximately 10–16 years of relevant experience in Corporate Compliance, Internal Investigations, Ethics & Compliance, Forensic Investigations, Internal Audit, Risk, Legal, or related areas.
  • Experience in conducting workplace misconduct, fraud, whistle-blower, ethics, or regulatory investigations.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, consulting firm, law firm, or forensic advisory firm would be preferred.
  • Strong investigation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to conduct sensitive and difficult interviews.
  • Demonstrates the highest levels of integrity, professional ethics, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
  • Strong report-writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to analyse complex information and identify facts and patterns.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
