Job summary

Pluugin Ecommerce seeks a seasoned Head of Accounting to lead the accounting and finance function for its e-commerce division in India. You will oversee financial reporting, internal controls, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to guide business decisions.

Responsibilities include managing e-commerce accounting, marketplace reconciliations, GST compliance, audits, and development of funding strategies. Strong leadership and strong Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CA/ICWA preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, with supervisory exposure.
• Strong MS Office and accounting software skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of bookkeeping standards.

• Overseeing e‑commerce accounting, reconciling transactions and booking invoices for commissions, shipping, and marketing.

• Overseeing general ledger, AP/AR, audits, and year‑end closing.

Location : India Delhi NCR

• Will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting and finance department for the company's e-commerce division.
• Will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, maintain proper internal controls, and provide financial guidance and support for business decision making.
• Managing e-commerce accounting, including reconciling transactions and booking invoices for commission, shipping, and marketing expenses.
• Handling marketplace reconciliation, including reconciling transactions and checking all the expenses like commission, shipping, and marketing expenses on marketplaces like Flipkart and Amazon etc.
• Responsible for day-to-day oversight of the companies' tax affairs and compliance including new tax requirements and jurisdictions
• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, taxes and GST.
• Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
• Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
• Prepare, review, and analyse financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
• Collaborate with management on development and execution of funding strategies
• Examine financial and legal documents to verify accuracy and adherence to financial regulations and acceptable financial principles
• Develop or recommend solutions for problems or situations
• Analyses revenue, expenses, cash flows, and balance sheets.
• Assists management to make financial decisions.
• Maintains an accurate filing and record keeping system for all financial statements and company documents.
• Participates in the execution of changes to procedures, policies, and systems to facilitate expansion, compliance, and scaling of the business.

Requirements And Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CA / ICWA will be preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases Knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems.
