Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business management, or related field.
  • Experience in payment network products, digital payments, product management, network delivery, or payment technology.
  • Strong understanding of payments ecosystem: networks, issuers, acquirers, processors, and digital payment providers.
  • Knowledge of payment transaction flows and capabilities: authorization, authentication, tokenization, clearing, settlement.
  • Experience delivering products from requirements to operational readiness.
  • Demonstrated project/program management across multiple teams, risks, and dependencies.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into clear product/technical deliverables.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, executive communication, stakeholder management, influencing and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute product roadmaps for payment network capabilities aligned with priorities and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery across Authorization, Tokenization, Authentication, Digital Wallets, Local Network solutions, and Network-to-Network integrations.
  • Translate business, customer, partner, and regulatory needs into features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and milestones.
  • Guide product decisions with deep understanding of networks, issuing, acquiring, processing, and transaction flows.
  • Ensure solutions meet business outcomes with scalability, security, resilience, and interoperability.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and QA across design, development, testing, implementation, and post-launch readiness.
  • Maintain integrated delivery plans covering scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, and decisions.
  • Coordinate execution across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and external partners.
  • Identify delivery risks, drive mitigation, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Prepare executive updates, dashboards, roadmaps, and governance materials.
  • Build trusted relationships and influence decisions across global, cross-functional teams.

Job description

Global Merchant & Network Services brings together American Express merchant and network-related businesses, including relationships with merchants, issuers, acquirers, processors, and strategic partners globally.

The Network Product team develops and delivers secure, resilient, and scalable payment network capabilities. This includes Authorization, Tokenization, Authentication, Digital Wallets, Local Network solutions, and Network-to-Network integrations that support market expansion, regulatory requirements, and global interoperability.

We are looking for an experienced Network Product professional to drive the development and delivery of strategic payment network capabilities. The role requires strong knowledge of payment networks, issuing, acquiring, transaction processing, and digital payments, along with the ability to translate business and partner needs into clear product requirements and executable delivery plans.

Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills are critical. The individual will coordinate cross-functional workstreams, manage risks and dependencies, drive governance, and communicate progress and decisions effectively to senior leaders, internal teams, and external partners.

  • Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Management, or related field.
  • Relevant experience in payment network products, digital payments, product management, network delivery, or payment technology.
  • Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, including networks, issuers, acquirers, processors, and digital payment providers.
  • Knowledge of payment transaction flows and capabilities such as authorization, authentication, tokenization, clearing, and settlement.
  • Experience delivering products or capabilities through requirements, development, testing, implementation, and operational readiness.
  • Demonstrated project or program management experience across multiple teams, workstreams, risks, and dependencies.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into clear product and technical deliverables.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, executive communication, stakeholder management, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and highly matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience working with payment networks, issuers, acquirers, processors, digital wallet providers, or network capability modernization programs is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Authorization, Tokenization, Authentication, Safe Key, Digital Wallets, Local Network solutions, or Network-to-Network integrations.
  • Knowledge of card processing, payment message flows, network specifications, and payment operations.
  • Experience delivering complex modernization, migration, regulatory, or market-enablement initiatives.
  • Experience managing product roadmaps, backlogs, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience with Agile or SAFe delivery methodologies and knowledge of Rally, JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools.
  • Experience engaging with external network partners, processors, vendors, or payment ecosystem participants.
  • Develop and execute product roadmaps for payment network capabilities aligned with enterprise priorities, market needs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of capabilities across Authorization, Tokenization, Authentication, Digital Wallets, Local Network solutions, and Network-to-Network integrations.
  • Translate business, customer, partner, and regulatory needs into features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery milestones.
  • Apply strong understanding of payment networks, issuing, acquiring, processing, transaction flows, and network specifications to guide product decisions.
