Job summary

AMD Bangalore is seeking a Senior Manager for CPU Verification to lead Core IP verification efforts across functional, power, and performance aspects using simulation and hardware emulation. The role requires hands-on IP verification leadership and deep CPU micro-architecture knowledge.

The candidate will collaborate with frontend, backend, and physical design teams, mentor teams, review test plans, and drive milestones while engaging with senior management and vendors to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of solid experience in IP design verification.
• Develop stimulus, asm based directed tests and exerciser stimulus to verify different complex CPU design features.
• Deep understanding of CPU core micro-architecture, cache design, pipeline and power management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team performing Core IP verification for functional, power, and performance aspects with simulation and hardware emulation environments.
• Collaborate with front end design and physical design teams on various IP verification efforts.
• Interact with internal and external DV teams, methodology, silicon IP and tool vendors.
• Manage IP dependencies, planning and tracking front end design tasks.
• Drive project milestones across design, verification and physical implementations.
• Advise senior management on technical/business issues and help shape evaluation criteria.
• Identify right candidates and grow the team to meet project needs.

Senior Manager, CPU Verification

The Role

Person will be part of next generation CPU Cores Verification team. The role will require the candidate to understand and work on all aspects of VLSI development from CPU micro architecture verification, front end verification. Requires strong hands‑on IP design verification experience and knowledge of all facets of the IP design process and a good understanding of verification concepts.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 15+ years of solid experience in IP design verification.
• Developing stimulus, asm based directed tests and exerciser stimulus to verify different complex CPU design features.
• In depth understanding of CPU core micro-architecture designs, Cache design, cache verification, pipeline, Power Management aspects and Microprocessors is required
• Ability to review top level test plans
• Needs to makes effective and timely decisions, even with incomplete information.
• Should possess a strong understanding of a particular technical area and accumulated significant experience in this area and other related areas.
• Provides direction, mentoring, and leadership to a small to medium sized groups.
• Should possess strong communication and leadership skills to ensure effective communication with Program

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the team performing Core IP verification for functional, power, and performance aspects with simulation and hardware emulation environments.
• Work in close collaboration with the front end design and physical design teams on the various IP verification efforts
• Interact with a wide variety of internal and external design verification development teams, DV methodology, and Silicon IP and tool vendors.
• Manage IP dependencies, planning and tracking of all front end design related tasks
• Driving the project milestones across the design, verification and physical implementations
• Advises senior management on specialized technical or business issues. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results. Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on difficult matters concerning several functional areas, multiple business units, and/or customers. Key relationships with important customers and vendors have been developed. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship.
• Additional responsibilities include identifying the right candidates, hiring activities, growing the team to accomplish project needs.

Academic Credentials

Bachelor/Master Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering. Master preferred
