Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Sr. Lead/Lead Cost Engineer in Vadodara to develop should-cost models for electronics and panel assemblies, analyze BOMs, and drive cost optimization. You will support RFQs, run cost breakdowns with EMS partners, and provide DFM/DFT recommendations while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Role requires 8–13 years in supply chain, should costing, and electronics/EMS processes, with strong Excel, Creo, and aPriori skills. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in supply chain, should costing, and manufacturing process plan in electronics/EMS.
• Strong cost modeling, BOM analytics and cost breakdown capabilities.
• Proficiency with Creo and aPriori or equivalent costing tools.

Responsibilities

• Build should-cost models (bottom-up & parametric) for PCBAs, control panels, cable assemblies, and electro-mechanical builds.
• Analyze BOMs, Gerbers, process steps, yields, labor, overheads, and cost drivers.
• Support RFQ processes: normalize supplier quotes, compare vs. should-cost, and prepare negotiation insights.
• Conduct cost breakdown reviews with EMS partners and panel builders.
• Provide DFM/DFA/DFT recommendations to Engineering for cost optimization.
