Job summary

Convergys is seeking a Technical Lead for the Payments Platform to steer the backend design and delivery using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate and microservices. Technical Lead - Java/J2EE, Payments PlatformResponsibilities:Lead the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and microservices architecture.Collaborate with business teams, architects, QA, DevOps, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, payment service integrations, and enterprise applications supporting Money platforms.Drive technical design discussions, code reviews, coding standards, and development best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.Mentor and guide developers, providing technical leadership and support throughout the software development lifecycle.Analyze and resolve complex production issues, performance bottlenecks, and system stability challenges.Optimize application performance, scalability, security, and reliability for high-volume transaction processing systems.Ensure adherence to secure coding standards, API security practices, and compliance requirements.Work closely with QA and operations teams to support testing, deployments, and production releases.Contribute to architecture decisions, technology roadmaps, and continuous improvement initiatives.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.10-14 years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE application development, with at least 3+ years in a Technical Lead role.Strong expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, Microservices, and SQL.Experience in designing and developing enterprise-scale applications and distributed systems.Strong understanding of software design patterns, architecture principles, and secure coding practices.Experience with Oracle/PostgreSQL database design, optimization, and performance tuning.Exposure to CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms is an advantage.Experience in Digital Payments, Mobile Wallets, FinTech, Banking, or Telecom Financial Services is highly preferred.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.Ability to lead technical discussions and drive delivery in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Domain Experience:Mobile Wallets, Payments, Remittance, Merchant Payments, QR Payments, Banking Integrations, eKYC, and Digital Financial Services.
