Job summary

Weekday AI (YC W21) is seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications using React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js.

You will own frontend initiatives, collaborate with product, design, backend, QA, and DevOps, implement REST APIs and GraphQL integrations, and mentor junior engineers while upholding code quality and modern engineering practices.

We are looking for an experiencedSenior Frontend Developerwith strong expertise inReact.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, REST APIs, and GraphQLto design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on frontend engineering experience and a deep understanding of modern JavaScript development. You will contribute to technical design, application architecture, reusable component development, API integrations, performance optimisation, and engineering best practices.

This role requires someone who can take ownership of complex frontend initiatives while collaborating closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications usingReact.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.


• Build reusable, modular, maintainable, and high-performance frontend components.


• Develop responsive and user-friendly interfaces aligned with product and business requirements.


• Design and implement frontend application architecture and reusable design patterns.


• Integrate frontend applications with backend services usingREST APIs and GraphQL.


• Work with Node.js where required to support frontend applications, APIs, tooling, or backend-for-frontend services.


• Implement efficient data fetching, state management, error handling, and application workflows.


• Optimise application performance, responsiveness, scalability, and browser compatibility.


• Develop reusable UI components and contribute to frontend design systems and shared libraries.


• Write clean, maintainable, testable, and well-documented code following modern engineering practices.


• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to improve code quality and consistency.


• Troubleshoot complex frontend and integration issues and perform root-cause analysis.


• Collaborate with Product, UX/UI, Backend, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.


• Translate functional and technical requirements into scalable frontend solutions.


• Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for frontend applications.


• Support application releases, deployments, production troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.

• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and contribute to technical knowledge-sharing initiatives.
