Job summary

Amazon India, Bangalore, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with 5+ years of experience in financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls. You will support financial reporting, assess control design, and prepare technical position papers.

Collaboration with FP&A, IT, and global teams is essential in this role. Candidates should have CA/CPA, strong communication skills, and experience with US GAAP and Indian accounting standards.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 4+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
  • 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of quantitative role experience
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
  • Experience as a lean sensei, or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Big4 audit firms, multi-national corporate or operational accounting experience
  • CA or CPA qualification is a must.
  • Strong communications skills and able to work effectively with teams in India and US.
  • Understanding of US GAAP, Indian Accounting Standards and communicate with external auditors and regulators

We are currently looking for candidates who are at the Sr Financial analyst level. Successful candidates for this position will have the equivalent of 5+ years of professional experience with financial accounting, reporting and internal control related responsibilities. This position will have responsibility for supporting all parts of our financial reporting process and will be expected to understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area. Technical accounting research and position paper writing will also be a requirement of this position. This position is expected to have a strong sense of ownership, ability to identify process improvement opportunities, drive positive change across the organization, and enhance partnerships between accounting and various business finance, operations accounting and IT groups and ability to deliver results and commitment to highest standards of quality.

Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Big4 audit firms, multi-national corporate or operational accounting experience.

  • Prior experience of managing relationship with Big4 auditors will be an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of Tableau
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Candidate will also have strong written and oral communication skills, solid organizational, risk assessment and information technology aptitude.
  • Prior working experience in Oracle module and ability to carry out analytics.
