Job summary

Sika is seeking a qualified QA/QC professional to lead laboratory testing and ensure compliance with IMS standards at our Chennai site. The role involves testing concrete trials, admixtures, intermediates, and finished products, with SAP-based release of materials and rigorous record-keeping.

The ideal candidate has 5–6 years in manufacturing/quality control within construction chemicals or chemical manufacturing, with ERP/SAP knowledge and strong analytical abilities. Competitive salary offered.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of routine QC methods, procedures and equipment handling.

• Proficiency in MS Office and basic computing.

Responsibilities

• Test and supervise concrete trials, liquid admixtures, RM and PM per R&D specs.
• Test intermediates and finished products per R&D specs.
• Generate Certificate of Analysis for each batch.
• Maintain QC records in hard and soft copy as per QC requirements.
• Perform statistical data analysis to drive process improvements.
• Authorize RM/PM/FG releases in SAP and document non-conformances.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing and supervising the testing of Concrete Trials/Liquid Admixture/RM and PM as per the specification provided by R&D.
• Responsible for performing and supervising the testing of Intermediates and Finished products as per the specification provided by R & D.
• Responsible for generating Certificate of Analysis for all the batches produced.
• Ensuring and maintaining the QC records pertaining to testing results in Hard copy as well in soft copyas per QC requirements
• Statistical Data analysis and improvement in process with the help of Analyzed data.
• Responsible for authorizing and executing the RM/PM/ FG release in SAP.
• Responsible for the generation of non-conforming material notes in case of any rejection of RM, PM, Intermediates and F.G.
• Responsible for the modification of First Time Failure batches as per R & D guidelines.
• Ensuring that the status of nonconforming raw, packing materials, intermediate and finished products are identified with proper label.
• Ensuring that the raw materials and packaging material which are being used are supplied by an approved vendor.
• Testing and approving new packaging material as per vendor specification with report submission to Procurement.
• Ensure continual improvements in the testing procedures of raw material, packing material and finished goods.
• Responsible for the calibration of the testing equipment available in his location both external & internal. Ensure all the lab equipment is maintained in good condition.
• Handle Customer Complaint and RCA for failure. Implement corrective actions against the Root Causes analysis.
• To ensure compliance with IMS Standards and maintaining the required documents.
• Assist technical team in establishing new products at Plant level.
• To ensure compliance with all kinds of audits done in the laboratory.
• Assist Procurement/ R&D for New Raw material/Packing material / Vendor development.
• Conduct regular process audits and ensure Corrective action against observation/ Nonconformance.
• Ensure and maintain overall good housekeeping and 5S in Lab.
• To train QC Lab personnel for performing QC activities in the lab safely and precisely as instructed.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience:

• Chemical engineering/BSC/MSC Chemistry (Inorganic Chemistry/Organic Chemistry)
• 5-6 years Manufacturing/Quality control experience in Construction Chemical/Chemical Manufacturing Company
• Knowledge of ERP/ SAP
