• Follow established safety policies, processes, SOPs and provide support in interpretation and implementation of safety related policies to line management
• Assist in the implementation of new safety initiatives/projects as per established policies

• Participate in external industry bodies and keep abreast with leading practices to improve systems and procedures
• Conduct and analyze safety observations and suggest actions to modify behaviours
• Maintain log books and shift documentation to ensure safety compliance
• Carry out investigations of safety incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Participate in risk management programs to manage key risks
• Create MIS reports and safety updates for site management
• Track leading and lagging safety metrics and drive improvements
• Prepare training modules and conduct safety awareness training for site employees
• Conduct Review Near-miss Analysis and propose actions to Line Management
• Coordinate safety committee meetings

Purpose of the Role - To execute all safety related policies at the Site, with the objective to identify, resolve/ mitigate or elevate key risks as per overall safety policies, regulations & standards

Responsibilities -

• Policies, Processes and Procedures -
• Follow established safety policies, processes, standard operating procedures and provide support in the interpretation and implementation of safety related policies to the line management
• Assist in the implementation of new initiatives/ projects as per the established policies to meet the future requirements of the site
• Participate in the first and third-party health and safety audit systems for their designated area/ plant, in collaboration with Lead Safety
• Participate in external industry bodies, trade association, global forums and keep self abreast with leading practices and trends in order to contribute towards continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures
• Operations -
• Conduct and analyse safety observations at their designated area/ plant and suggest actions to modify behaviours
• Maintain log book, occurrence book and other shift related documentation to ensure adherence to safety compliances
• Carryout investigation of all safety related incidents at their designated area/ plant, conduct root cause analysis and identify action plans to avert such future incidents
• Participate in risk management programs such as control measures, incident investigation, etc. to manage key risks at their designated area/ plant
• Create MIS reports, safety updates, findings, and performance indices to the area/ plant management so as to ensure awareness towards health and safety
• Track the leading and lagging safety metrics for their designated area/ plant and drive suggested improvement initiatives
• Prepare training modules/ programs and organize safety awareness training to safety executive/ their designated site employees to enhance awareness/ capability pertaining to safety
• Conduct/ Review Near miss Analysis and propose actions to Line Management on focus area/improvement actions
• Steer and co-ordinate for effective Plant level safety committee meetings

Education Requirement :

Necessary: Bachelors in Engineering/ Science in Mechanical/ Chemical/ Instrumentation/ Chemistry
