Job summary

SKF is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to lead product engineering activities, including 2D-3D conversion and detailed drawings, for lubrication lifetime solutions. You will collaborate with manufacturing and global teams, ensure timely deliverables and maintain design alignment with business goals.

Strong mentoring and stakeholder skills are essential. The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in product engineering, expertise with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PLM tools, and a background in ECN/ MOC

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 8–10 years in product engineering.
• Experience in sustaining engineering, lifecycle activities, and compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

• 2D to 3D conversion and detailed drawings using SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD with SAP ECTR/Windchill.

• Collaborate with LLS India Manufacturing, Product development, and global teams.
• Create technical documentation: owner's manuals, brochures, catalogs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports To: Manager - LECI

Key Responsibilities (Products & Process)

Product Engineering Leadership (70%)

• 2D to 3D Conversion and detailed manufacturing drawings from scratch using SOLID WORKS and AutoCAD with SAP ECTR/windchill.
• Sustenance Engineering / product Engineering activities for Lubrication lifetime solutions for LLS Factory.
• Work closely with LLS India Manufacturing teams, Product development, and various global teams and engineers and collaborate.
• Work closely with technical documentation team for owner's manual, Brochures and catalogs creation.
• Support in Technical and Product compliance documentation.
• Ensure timely deliverables and first-time right basis.
• Cross functional interaction with global stakeholders, AE, Value chains and mfg teams.
• Ensure alignment of designs with business goals, product strategy, and customer expectations.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; provide coaching on technical competencies and career development.
• Assign responsibilities to team members and monitor progress and performance.
• Facilitate technical knowledge-sharing sessions and capability-building initiatives.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture.

Stakeholder Management & Communication (15%)

• Act as the technical interface to internal and external stakeholders, including India Mfg teams, Global LLS teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Communicate updates proactively and transparently.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment of Product development and Product engineering.

Profile of the Job Holder:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 8-10 years of relevant experience in product engineering function, support critical lifecycle and sustaining engineering activities of factory and ensure SAP Master data management, 3D Modelling/Engineering Drawings, Release management and Variant management, ECN/MOC, product compliance and CE Certifications.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive accountability within teams.
• Demonstrates empathy, collaborative mindset, and strong relationship-building capability.

Key Skill & Knowledge Profile:

• Strong Knowledge on Product Engineering activities, Manufacturing process, Heat treatment, Root Cause Analysis, VA/VE, DFMEA, Risk Analysis, Tolerance stake up, Design Calculations, material selection etc.
• Strong Knowledge of Engineering Change Management Process (ECN), versioning and product variants /configuration management.
• Strong working Knowledge PLM/PDM with SolidWorks/AutoCAD, Windchill/ SAP ECTR /Any and Release Management.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks tool with 3D modeling, Exploded views, Configuration and Design Automation.
• Strong proficiency in creation of detailed Engineering Mfg. drawings and applying GD&T and tolerances.
• Knowledge in Material master data creation /edit, Bill of material (BOM) creation and /editing in SAP.
• Working info and Selection of standard industrial components like, bearings, motor, sensors and hydraulic components like pumps, valves and cylinders.
• Knowledge of Lubrication products, Design Automation, AI, NPD Processes and Tech Compliance will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools Word, Excel and Power point.
