Job summary

Micron Technology, a world leader in memory and storage solutions, seeks an experienced Oracle DBA to join their Hyderabad team. You will manage 8+ years of Oracle Database Administration, including 19c, RAC clusters, Data Guard, RMAN, and GoldenGate, while driving automation and performance improvements across enterprise environments.

Key responsibilities include installations, upgrades, migrations, patching, backup/recovery, and DR testing, with collaboration across global teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration and production support environments.
• Strong experience administering Oracle Database 19c and exposure to Oracle 26ai.
• Perform Oracle database installations, upgrades, migrations, cloning, refresh activities, and patching using RU, one-off patches, and Grid Infrastructure patches.
• Strong understanding of Oracle RAC architecture with hands-on experience supporting 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-node RAC clusters.
• Expertise in troubleshooting Oracle Clusterware, OCR, Voting Disk, ASM, RAC services, SCAN listeners, and Grid Infrastructure-related issues.
• Extensive experience in Oracle RMAN backup and recovery strategies, including backup validation, restore and recovery operations, PITR, and DR testing.
• Strong expertise in Oracle performance tuning and troubleshooting, including SQL tuning, execution plan analysis, AWR, ASH, and ADDM report analysis.
• Diagnose and resolve CPU, memory, storage, I/O, network, and OS-related database performance issues.
• Strong Oracle ASM administration experience, including ASM disk group management, troubleshooting, rebalancing activities, storage optimization, capacity planning, and performance analysis.
• Oracle Data Pump exports/imports, schema migrations, database refreshes, full database migrations, and Transportable Tablespaces.
• Experience in Oracle Data Guard and Active Data Guard administration for HA environments.
• Managing RAC Primary and Standby configurations across DR environments.
• Planned and unplanned Data Guard Switchover/Failover activities.
• Troubleshooting Data Guard transport lag, apply lag, redo shipping issues, standby recovery issues, broker configuration issues, and role transition failures.
• Disaster recovery testing, DR drills, and business continuity validations.
• Database migration and consolidation projects with minimal downtime.
• Oracle GoldenGate installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting (Extract, Replicat, Integrated Capture).
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and preventive/corrective actions.
• Automation and scripting using Shell, Python, Ansible, or similar tools for DBA tasks.
• Knowledge of AI and Generative AI tools to enhance automation and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Strong ownership, accountability, customer focus, and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Manage Oracle Database administration in production environments including installations, upgrades, migrations, and patching.
• Maintain RAC clusters (2- to 5-node) and Grid Infrastructure components.

• Tune performance: SQL, execution plans, AWR/ASH/ADDM analyses.

• Good knowledge of AI and Generative AI technologies with hands‑on experience using AI‑powered tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or Claude) to enhance automation, troubleshooting, operational efficiency, documentation, and database administration activities.
