Job summary

Alten in Chennai is seeking a seasoned BSP Developer to drive Android Automotive BSP porting, kernel bring-up, and driver development. You will work on bootload processes, device drivers, and Android init sequences, with opportunities to shape BSP architecture.

The role requires 5–9 years of embedded Linux/Android experience, strong C/C++, and leadership capabilities to mentor a team of 4+ engineers. Chennai-based, onsite work with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5–9 years of embedded Linux/Android platform development experience.
• Experience coding in C/C++ for Android/Linux.
• Hands-on BSP/Driver development and SoC bring-up.
• Experience with drivers for BT, Wi‑Fi, Display/Touch, GSM/GPS/GNSS, USB, UART.
• Mentoring and leading BSP/Driver engineers.

Job Description Educational Qualification: B.E/M.E Power Electronics/Electrical or M.Sc. Power Electronics/Instrumentation or equivalent B.E/M.E in Computer Science, Computer Engineering Experience (in years): 5 - 9 Years relevant experience of Embedded Linux/Android Platform Development Experience Keywords: Automotive Android OS, Linux, Yocto based SDKs, Automotive Android BSP Product Experience & Technical Expertise:

• Board brings up hands-on with SoCs.
• Have programming experience in Android - Linux Kernel, Drivers, HAL layer, Native Frameworks (C++).
• Build systems knowledge, like Yocto, Buildroot, CMake and Makefiles
• Hands on Software Development experience in C/C++.
• Review of hardware schematics and support the hardware design with low- level software components
• Experience writing custom device drivers and related SDKs/APIs for Interfaces like BT, Wi-Fi, Display/Touch, GSM/GPS/GNSS, USB, UART etc
• Experience in optimizing boot times for Android Infotainment & 2W Cluster platforms
• Mentoring and leading team of 4+ BSP/Driver development Engineers
• Strong knowledge of Git version control system
