Emerson India Pune seeks an experienced supplier development professional to identify and develop key global casting, machining, and other commodity suppliers in India, ensuring supply continuity and strategic global alignment.

You will lead cost reduction initiatives, manage supplier performance, and collaborate with Quality, Development Engineering, and Marketing to clarify specs and drive total quality and cost improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 5-8 years of experience in supplier development & management, focusing on castings, forging, machining, and related commodities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and cost estimation capabilities are required.
  • Excellent project management skills from strategic sourcing to operational execution.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and MS Office tools.
  • Comfort working in a highly matrixed organization and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and manage new global casting, machining, and other commodity suppliers in India.
  • Provide regionalization and risk mitigation to ensure material supply continuity.
  • Drive supplier quality, delivery, lead times, and cost performance for key commodities.
  • Lead supplier development and coordinate with internal stakeholders across global sites.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Identify, develop new, key global casting and machining and other commodity suppliers in India.
  • Provides regionalization & risk mitigation, sourcing input to ensure surety of material supplies.
  • Actively pursuing strategies
  • Active pursuit on Cost Savings via Negotiation, Consolidation & Leverage and E-sourcing tools with Key Global Supply Chain Strategic goals in mind.
  • Driving Global Supply Chain matrices including quality, speed, cost.
  • Achieves supplier quality, delivery, lead time and cost performance goals on key commodities for new and existing product programs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to support business and operational requirements.
  • Drive supplier capability improvements in quality, delivery, capacity, and cost competitiveness.
  • Supports in resolving supplier's supply chain relatedproblems and improve supplier manufacturing and business processes.
  • Identifies, researches and implements new materials and manufacturing technologies to improve the company's competitive position.
  • Lead Supplier development and align with key internal/ Global stakeholders.
  • Participates, as assigned, and supports division/ corporate programs including NMI, DPO, Best Cost Country sourcing, Direct Buy initiatives, Reverse Auctions, Corporate negotiations, Inflation Model, Parts Analysis & Contract management etc.
  • Supports world area sites by providing, as required, pricing data, lead-times, samples, catalogues, new designs and market trends.
  • Confers with Quality Assurance, Development Engineering and Marketing to clarify specifications and assure an accurate understanding of projectrequirements.
  • Establishes and maintains rapport with critical suppliers to assure a high level of focus on total quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to understand business priorities and drive key improvement matrices.
  • Participates in key projects/ initiatives to drive opportunities for improvement across the Supply Chain.
  • Plans and conduct regular business reviews with Key Suppliers to ensure aligned goals & business directions.
  • Provides management with regularrecommendations/ updates on commodity matricesperformance & related commodity strategies moving forward.
  • Assists tactical buyers with problem resolution and provides procedural guidance.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with 5-8 years of experience in supplier development & management and have experience in commodities like castings, Forging Machining commodities
  • Strong technical skills and Good understanding of manufacturing processes of.Casting, Machining,Forging,Metal Forming.
  • Should be familiar with the cost estimation and possess strong negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable functioning in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Excellent project management skills from strategic sourcing to operational execution.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English & MS office tools.
