Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Senior Specialist in Supplier Development to identify and develop key suppliers for casting, machining, and other commodities in India. You will drive regionalization, risk mitigation, and cost-savings initiatives while aligning with global supply chain goals.

You will lead supplier development, improve quality and delivery, and collaborate with internal teams to meet business needs in a highly matrixed organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 5-8 years of experience in supplier development & management.
• Experience with castings, forging and machining commodities.
• Strong negotiation and cost estimation skills.
• Excellent English communication and MS Office proficiency.

• Identify, develop new, key global casting and machining and other commodity suppliers in India.
• Provides regionalization & risk mitigation, sourcing input to ensure surety of material supplies.
• Actively pursuing strategies
• Active pursuit on Cost Savings via Negotiation, Consolidation & Leverage and E-sourcing tools with Key Global Supply Chain Strategic goals in mind.
• Driving Global Supply Chain matrices including quality, speed, cost.
• Achieves supplier quality, delivery, lead time and cost performance goals on key commodities for new and existing product programs.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to support business and operational requirements.
• Drive supplier capability improvements in quality, delivery, capacity, and cost competitiveness.
• Supports in resolving supplier's supply chain related problems and improve supplier manufacturing and business processes.
• Identifies, researches and implements new materials and manufacturing technologies to improve the company's competitive position.
• Lead Supplier development and align with key internal/ Global stakeholders.
• Participates, as assigned, and supports division/ corporate programs including NMI, DPO, Best Cost Country sourcing, Direct Buy initiatives, Reverse Auctions, Corporate negotiations, Inflation Model, Parts Analysis & Contract management etc.
• Supports world area sites by providing, as required, pricing data, lead-times, samples, catalogues, new designs and market trends.
• Confers with Quality Assurance, Development Engineering and Marketing to clarify specifications and assure an accurate understanding of project requirements.
• Establishes and maintains rapport with critical suppliers to assure a high level of focus on total quality and cost effectiveness.
• Collaborates with key stakeholders to understand business priorities and drive key improvement matrices.
• Participates in key projects/ initiatives to drive opportunities for improvement across the Supply Chain.
• Plans and conduct regular business reviews with Key Suppliers to ensure aligned goals & business directions.
• Provides management with regular recommendations/ updates on commodity matrices performance & related commodity strategies moving forward.
• Assists tactical buyers with problem resolution and provides procedural guidance.

For This Role, You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, with 5-8 years of experience in supplier development & management and have experience in commodities like castings, Forging Machining commodities
• Strong technical skills and Good understanding of manufacturing processes of. Casting, Machining, Forging, Metal Forming.
• Should be familiar with the cost estimation and possess strong negotiation skills.
• Comfortable functioning in a highly matrixed organization.
• Excellent project management skills from strategic sourcing to operational execution.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English & MS office tools.
