Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment processes supporting scalable, secure systems.

You will collaborate with development and operations teams in Bangalore to optimize deployments, improve reliability, and drive platform engineering initiatives across the technology stack.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years hands-on Jenkins CI/CD experience.
• Proficiency with Nexus for artifacts.
• 5-7 years GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• 5-7 years OpenShift and/or Kubernetes.
• 5 years Ansible for infrastructure automation.
• 3 years Groovy, YAML, Shell scripting.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.

We are seekinga talented and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Technology team. In this role, you willbe responsible fordesigning, implementing, andmaintainingour CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment processes. You will work collaboratively with development and operations teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure systems that support our businessobjectives.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, andmaintaincontinuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions

• Manage artifact repositories and dependencies using Nexus

• Administer andoptimizecontainerized environments using OpenShift and Kubernetes

• Develop andmaintaininfrastructure-as-code solutions using Ansible

• Write andmaintainautomation scripts in Groovy, YAML, Shell, and other DevOps-related scripting languages

• Implement AI and automation ideas towards DevOps and platform engineering solutions

• Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot deployment issues andoptimizeperformance

• Manage version control workflows using GitHub

• Ideate platform solutions & lead new initiatives

• Lead engineers to solve and automate operational & support challenges

What We're Looking For

• 5-7 years ofHands-on experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance
• Proficiency with Nexus for artifact and dependency management
• Strong experience(5-7 years)with GitHub and GitHub Actions for version control and automation
• Demonstratedexpertise(5-7 years)in OpenShift and/or Kubernetes container orchestration
• Solid knowledge(5 years)of Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration management
• Programming/scriptingproficiency(3years)inGroovy, YAML, Shell, and other DevOps-related languages
• Experience with Jira for issue tracking and project management
• Familiarity with Confluence for documentation and knowledge sharing
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Strong communicationskills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Knowledge of containerization best practices and Docker

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (ELK, New Relic, Alertsite/ synthetic monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana)

• Experience with security scanning and compliance automation

• Agile/Scrummethodologyexperience

• Relevant certifications (CKA, CKAD, AWS, etc.)
