Job summary

Five9 is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join the Voice Application Services team. You will automate infrastructure, build scalable cloud environments on AWS and GCP, and lead CI/CD pipelines for software releases. Emphasis on AI-assisted coding tools and voice technologies.

The role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence three days a week in Bengaluru. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for cross-functional delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infra engineering roles
• Hands-on with Ansible and Terraform and reusable modules
• Strong cloud experience with AWS and GCP
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux and shell scripting
• Solid CI/CD experience (GitLab or similar)
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Copilot)
• Knowledge of voice technologies/protocols SIP and RTP
• Excellent written and verbal English; strong cross-functional collaboration

The Devops Engineer would be an active member within the Voice Application Services team, responsible for providing automation and test support for the SW releases of Five9.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Ansible and Terraform
• Build and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as GitLab CI/CD, or similar
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows across distributed systems
• Collaborate with Development, QA, and Operations teams to ensure seamless delivery and high system reliability
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to improve availability and scalability
• Develop and maintain reusable automation modules and frameworks
• Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and drive improvements in automation and operational workflows
• Work with REST APIs and integrate services across systems and platforms
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and code quality
• Support and manage voice infrastructure components, including protocols such as SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol)

Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles (preferably in telecom, SaaS, or service provider environments)
• Hands-on experience with Ansible and Terraform, including writing and maintaining reusable modules
• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux systems, including CLI-based administration and shell scripting
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, or similar)
• Demonstrated understanding of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot)
• Familiarity with voice technologies and protocols such as SIP and RTP
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to work effectively in distributed, cross-functional teams

This role is hybrid and requires 3 days a week in office.
