Job summary

TE Connectivity Ltd. is seeking a data scientist to apply statistical modeling, ML, and data analytics to engineering and product decisions. You will work with engineering, ML engineers, and product teams to build predictive models and generate actionable insights.

The role emphasizes data collection, exploratory analysis, and the deployment of analytics pipelines, with opportunities to mentor juniors and influence design decisions. Travel may be required to customers and TE development sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in a technical discipline with 5+ years (or 3+ years with Masters) of relevant experience.
• Strong background in statistical modeling, ML, and data analysis.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R for data science tasks.
• Experience with large datasets and data science libraries.
• Experience with visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI).
• Excellent communication and data storytelling abilities.
• Able to work independently and influence technical decisions.
• Willingness to travel 10–25% to customers and TE sites.

Job Responsibilities

Advanced Data Collection and Analytics

• Design data collection and preparation strategies across multiple datasets and systems.
• Lead exploratory data analysis to uncover insights that influence engineering or product decisions.

Predictive Modeling and Machine Learning

• Develop and deploy predictive models using machine learning techniques such as classification, regression, clustering, and anomaly detection.
• Evaluate and optimize model performance using statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Apply advanced modeling techniques to solve complex engineering or operational problems.

Data Visualization and Communication

• Develop dashboards and visualization tools that communicate analytical insights to leadership and technical teams.

Cross Functional Collaboration

• Partner with engineering, software, and product teams to implement analytical models into production systems.

Required Skills Competency

Bachelors with 5+ years, Masters with 3+ years, or PhD with 0+ years of experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Strong experience in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analysis.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar analytical programming languages.
• Experience working with large datasets, data science libraries, and complex analytical problems.
• Experience using visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong communication and data storytelling skills.
• Ability to work independently on analytical projects and influence technical decisions.
• Excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to travel 10% to 25% to customers, conferences, partner locations, and TE development sites.
