Job Description

The Senior Data Migration Engineer will be responsible for leading the migration of complex data from various EMR systems to Ellkay data archiving solution LKOASIS, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of all processes. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to define project scope, develop migration plans, and oversee the entire data migration lifecycle. The Senior Data Migration Engineer will proactively identify and resolve complex issues, implement continuous improvements, and ensure the timely delivery of multiple projects. Additionally, this position will provide mentorship to junior data migration engineers and work closely with cross-functional teams to align and coordinate project deliverables.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform data migration of both structured and unstructured data from various EMR systems, ensuring seamless migration to new EMR platforms and archives.
• Act as the main point of contact for assigned EMR data migration projects, responsible for ensuring all project timelines are met.
• Collaborate with project managers to understand their project scope, analyze their data, and develop a detailed delivery plan.
• Proactively identify potential issues and implement resolution strategies to minimize any impact on the project.
• Conduct data validation and testing to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of the migrated data.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with cross-functional departments, ensuring alignment and timely execution of deliverables across various internal and external teams.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, facilitating knowledge transfer and fostering a collaborative environment within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Data Analytics or related field.
• 5+ years’ Experience with data analysis and SQL.
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance in healthcare environments, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and other regulations.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
