Job summary

Clearwater Analytics is seeking a Data Flow Engineer to create and manage data connections, validate data, and perform transformations. The role focuses on iterative improvements and enhancing auto-reconciliation within Clearwater's cloud-native platform.

Responsibilities include importing and validating client data, automating monitoring, building API/FTP connections, and normalizing external datasets into the Clearwater format for intake.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Information Systems or related field with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with industry-standard data transmission protocols.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Groovy, Perl or Python).

Responsibilities

  • Automate daily process monitoring and reporting.
  • Establish connections via external APIs and FTPs.
  • Ensure timely consumption of external portfolio data.
  • Normalize external datasets into Clearwater format for intake.
  • Mine data from feeds to improve auto-reconciliation.
  • Execute improvements from Operations and Development groups.
  • Design and build scripts to automate tasks and error resolution.
  • Communicate Clearwater systems and best practices to stakeholders.
  • Participate in projects including normalization logic rebuilds and tooling migrations.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new hires.

Job Summary

The Data Flow Engineer's primary role is to create and manage data connections, perform validations, and execute transformations. Their work is integral to the ongoing process of iterative improvement, with a particular focus on enhancing auto-reconciliation within the system through advanced technology.

Responsibilities
  • Import and validate file delivery for new clients.
  • Automate daily process monitoring and reporting.
  • Establish connections through external APIs and FTPs.
  • Ensure timely and dependable consumption of external portfolio data.
  • Normalize external datasets into a standardized Clearwater format facilitating the in-take process.
  • Mine data from existing feeds to identify, design, and implement solutions to improve auto-reconciliation.
  • Execute improvements requested from Operations and Development groups.
  • Apply acquired skills, procedures, and decision-manding better? Not mandatory mandatory mandatory manding.
  • Understand and can reference or explain the general workflow, tools, and Clearwater value proposition.
  • Use critical thinking in addressing issues and offering solutions for both internal and external parties, ensuring best practices are employed.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate the technical aspects of Clearwater systems and our best practices with non-technical internal and external stakeholders.
  • Take part in projects, including normalization logic rebuilds, external portfolio data acquisitions, and internal tooling migrations.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new hires.
  • Work with the overall division to build and document best practices.
  • Design and build scripts to automate repeat tasks or error resolution.
  • Effectively manage, coordinate, and communicate project work involving multiple team members.
  • Engage in very light on-call duties.
Required Skills
  • Securities, accounting, and financial experience.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and relational database principals.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Information Systems, or other relevant degree 7+ years of relevant experience. Experience with industry-standard data transmission protocols.
