Job summary

Veradigm Inc. seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize healthcare data pipelines across clinical, claims, and operational datasets.

You will work with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks to deliver scalable ETL/ELT solutions and ensure data quality. You will partner with Professional Services, Product, and Analytics teams to meet client onboarding timelines while upholding HIPAA and PHI handling standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably healthcare/regulatory environments
• Strong proficiency in SQL and T-SQL with experience building complex transformations
• Experience with SQL Server performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing
• Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with Azure data services
• Experience designing and managing ETL/ELT workflows and data pipelines
• Solid understanding of healthcare data structures (claims, encounters, provider, member)
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Git

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for healthcare data ingestion and delivery
• Develop and optimize SQL Server stored procedures driving core transformations
• Implement complex transformation logic using T-SQL for mapping, validation, and standardization
• Optimize performance of queries, procedures, and ETL processes for large datasets
• Develop and optimize data solutions within Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, SQL, Databricks)
• Lead data onboarding and client data integration efforts
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and validation including reconciliation and audit processes
• Document data models, mappings, and transformation logic for reusable assets
• Collaborate with Professional Services, Product, DevOps, and Analytics teams
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of pipeline failures and performance issues
• Contribute to process improvement to accelerate onboarding and reliability
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices
