Working closely with Solution Designers, Product Owners, and customers, this role requires a deep understanding of data warehousing principles, cloud architecture, modern data engineering practices, and Agentic Driven Development.

This role is responsible for building and optimizing modern data platforms leveraging Snowflake, AWS Data Engineering Services (Glue, SMUS, MWAA etc.), Python, PySpark, and working experience with Iceberg or other open file formats.

The ideal candidate will possess strong hands‑on experience in cloud data engineering, data warehousing, lakehouse architectures, and Agentic Driven Development, and will act as a technical authority across the team.

Experience: 7+ years in Data Engineering or related roles, including experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all work conforms to security, infrastructure, product and other internal requirements.
  • Maintain system documentation in conformance with LSEG requirements.
  • Become a Snowflake and data subject authority, capable of explaining the product suite and engaging with a wide audience.
  • Steer, guide and assist disparate teams seeking integrations; input into evolving LSEG policies and standards.
  • Ensure that all processes and documentation are adequate and effective to meet support and audit requirements.
  • Work as part of an Agile scrum team, collaborating closely with business customers, Technology Product Owner, Solution Architects and Delivery leads.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior data engineers.
  • Drive the adoption of Agentic AI capabilities to automate data engineering workflows, including code generation, data quality validation, metadata management, pipeline monitoring, and operational troubleshooting.
Required Skills & Experience (Must have)
  • Strong experience creating and optimizing data pipelines on AWS using SageMaker Unified Studio and Glue.
  • Strong experience working with Relational/Dimensional data models, Data Lakes and Medallion Architecture.
  • Strong experience in SQL, including structured and semi‑structured data (XML and JSON), and developing ETL/ELT pipelines in and out of a data warehouse.
  • Strong experience with Python (Pandas and PySpark) for data ingestion and transformation.
  • Working experience with Iceberg or other open file formats.
  • Demonstrated experience driving adoption of Agentic AI capabilities to automate data engineering workflows.
  • Experience with Generative AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Amazon Q, or similar AI coding assistants.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML services such as Snowflake Cortex, AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, or similar platforms.
Nice to have
  • Experience building or working with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, Terraform).
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical design discussions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
