Qualifications

• Experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Product Owner, or similar role in enterprise application delivery.
• Demonstrated ownership of client-facing changes across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Strong requirements for elicitation, process mapping, functional documentation, user story, acceptance criteria, and traceability skills.
• Experience facilitating workshops, challenging assumptions constructively, building consensus, and converting business needs into implementable solutions.
• Hands-on involvement in UAT planning, defect triage, release of readiness, deployment support, and post-production stabilization.
• Hands-on experience working with data interfaces, including source-to-target data mapping, identification and definition of required data fields, documentation of transformation and validation rules, and translation of business logic into clear interface requirements.
• Ability to analyze data and validate business outcomes using SQL, Excel, reports, or equivalent analytical tools.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, stakeholder-management, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, dependencies, risks, and actions with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary client-facing owner for the Sample Management System Business Unit.
• Drive end-to-end changes through the complete lifecycle: intake, impact assessment, prioritization, requirements, solution alignment, build, test, release readiness, deployment, and hypercare.
• Conduct workshops, document current and future-state processes, define business and functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and data needs.
• Apply working knowledge of sample requests, inventory, fulfillment, reconciliation, and reporting processes; identify control gaps and improvements.
• Coordinate with client stakeholders, operations, product owners, architects, developers, QA, data teams, and external partners.
• Ensure requirement traceability; support test strategy, test case reviews, defect triage, UAT, business sign-off, and production validation.
• Maintain change status, RAID items, decisions, scope, action owners, and milestones; provide clear updates and risk visibility.
• Monitor post-release outcomes, drive root-cause follow-up, update documentation, and identify measurable process improvements.

Position Summary

The Senior Business Systems Analyst will serve as the primary client-facing owner for the Sample Management System process and its supporting systems. The role is accountable for understanding business needs, shaping practical solutions, and driving changes from intake and analysis through design, development, testing, deployment, adoption, and post-production stabilization. The candidate will connect business stakeholders, operations, compliance, technology, and delivery teams to ensure every change is clearly defined, traceable, controlled, and successfully implemented.

Key Responsibilities

• Client & Process Ownership: Act as the primary point of contact for Sample Management System Business Unit. Build trusted client relationships, understand operational priorities, and take ownership of decisions, dependencies, risks, and outcomes.
• End-to-End Change Leadership: Drive changes through the complete lifecycle: request intake, impact assessment, prioritization, requirements, solution alignment, build support, testing, release readiness, deployment, training, and hypercare.
• Requirements & Solution Definition: Conduct workshops, document current and future-state processes, define business and functional requirements, acceptance criteria, process flows, business rules, data needs, interfaces, and exception scenarios.
• Sample Management Expertise: Apply working knowledge of sample requests, approval, allocation, inventory, fulfillment/distribution, reconciliation, returns, adjustments, and reporting processes. Identify control gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with client stakeholders, operations, product owners, architects, developers, QA, support, data teams, and external partners. Resolve ambiguities quickly and maintain alignment throughout delivery.
• Testing & Release Readiness: Ensure requirement traceability; support test strategy, test case reviews, defect triage, UAT, business sign-off, cutover planning, release communication, and production validation.
• Governance & Communication: Maintain change status, RAID items, decisions, scope, action owners, and milestones. Provide concise updates and elevate issues early with clear impact and recommended actions.
• Stabilization & Continuous Improvement: Monitor post-release outcomes, coordinate issue triage, drive root-cause follow-up, update documentation, and identify measurable opportunities to improve process efficiency, data quality, controls, and user experience.

• Exposure to regulated environments and the ability to translate policy or control requirements into business rules and system behavior.
• Experience with enterprise platforms, integrations, reporting solutions, and production support processes.

Success Measures

• Changes progress with clear ownership, approved requirements, traceability, and timely stakeholder decisions.
• Releases meet agreed scope and acceptance criteria with controlled defects and effective business readiness.
• Client stakeholders receive transparent status, risk, dependency, and decision visibility at every stage.
• Post-release issues are stabilized promptly, and lessons learned are converted into sustainable process improvements.

Education & Preferred Credentials

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, Life Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.

Business Analysis or Agile credentials such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, CSPO, or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager are advantageous.
