Job summary

Barclays in Pune seeks a Senior Avaloq Developer to design, develop, and improve software solutions supporting banking operations. You will identify business requirements and translate them into robust Avaloq/PL-SQL based implementations within a large IT environment.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
• 8+ years application development experience, last 5 years with Oracle PL/SQL in banking apps; Avaloq knowledge is a plus.

As a Senior Avaloq Developer you will support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities.

To be a successful Senior Avaloq Developer you should have experience with:

• Masters or Bachelors Degree (preferably in Computer Science/Engineering)
• Min 8 years application development experience, of which the last 5 years have been Oracle PL/SQL in banking applications/ products (Avaloq knowledge would be an added advantage).
• Experience in large IT organization working in a support environment, supporting mission critical complex systems utilizing a large number of technologies and heavy reliance on batch processing.
• Oracle PL/SQL / Avaloq script
• Knowledge of UNIX , Agile Central and SVN
• Working knowledge on any banking products. Experience with Avaloq or alternatively in other core banking solutions (e. g. Finacle, T24, BaNCS etc. )
• Software development lifecycle.
• Good to have working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Service Now and Agile.
• In depth knowledge of and proven track record in financial services industry.
• Excellent overall knowledge of banking application and in depth knowledge of several of the functional modules like security trading, order management, settlement, corporate actions, credit, payments etc.

Additional relevant skills given below are highly valued:

• Leadership experience in Private Banking IT delivery programs.
• Good to have working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Service Now and Agile.

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.

• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
