Job summary

Standard Chartered India is seeking a Backend Specialist responsible for the development and maintenance of in-house applications. You will work with engineers across layers of the Applications, contributing to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product delivery.

The role requires strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, AWS, Kafka, Docker, and CI/CD within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in IT with API development using RESTful services, Spring, Hibernate/Spring JPA with JSON.
• Strong experience in defining Swagger specs for REST APIs and understanding REST principles.
• Good knowledge of AWS cloud or any cloud technology.
• Expert knowledge of relational DBs such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Experience with API integration using Solace or other messaging Pub/Sub models.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS/Azure.
• Experience with Git and unit testing frameworks like JUnit.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in in IT industry with Strong professional API development experience using RESTful webservices style, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate/Spring JPA with JSON data.
• Strong experience in creating defining Swagger specs for REST APIs, understanding REST principles and Guidelines.
• Good Knowledge & understanding in AWS cloud or any cloud technology.
• Expert knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Good knowledge in API Integration using Solace / any other messaging PubSub models.
• Should be able to come up with Technical Solution diagrams and Architecture for initiatives.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipeline deployment, containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS / Azure.
• Experience in Implementing unit testing frameworks like Junit.
• Strong version control skills using tools like Git, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of code quality through reviews and automated tests.
• Experience with continuous delivery systems and build tools – GIT, ADO/ Azure pipelines, Gradle/Maven etc.,
• Good Knowledge & understanding on UNIX/LINUX commands.
• Experience with working in Agile environment.
