Job summary

Standard Chartered India seeks a senior delivery leader with deep SAP FPSL expertise to drive large-scale FPSL programs in Banking and Financial Services. You will lead 20–30 engineers across development, deployment and support, guide architecture, and ensure regulatory and governance compliance.

Strong hands-on FPSL, SAP HANA/XSA, ABAP and CVPM skills are essential, along with leadership of onshore–offshore teams and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6-10 years’ experience in banking or financial services.
  • Deep hands-on experience in SAP FPSL solution design and architecture.
  • Proven track record managing 20–30 team members across delivery, deployment and support.
  • Strong FPSL integration with upstream/downstream systems and core banking.
  • Experience in SAP HANA XSA, ABAP, CVPM, and SQL (HANA).
  • Knowledge of IFRS9 and GAAP in FPSL and regulatory compliance.
  • End-to-end DevOps lifecycle experience in SAP XSA.
  • Ability to lead across distributed Agile teams (onshore–offshore).

Job description

Job Summary


  • Team player with strong leadership, analytical and strategic mindset to drive large-scale delivery programs in the Banking and Financial Services domain.

  • Must have deep hands‑on experience in SAP FPSL solution design and architecture, with proven track record in large-scale implementations.

  • Must have experience managing 3–4 team leads (total team size of 20 to 30 people) across development, deployment, and support tracks in SAP FPSL and related ecosystems.

  • Strong experience in solution design, architecture reviews, and technical governance across FPSL, S/4HANA Finance, and Subledger Accounting

  • Hands‑on experience in SAP HANA XSA, SAP ABAP, CVPM Framework, SQL (preferably SAP HANA) with ability to guide teams on technical best practices.

  • Must have knowledge of accounting processes (Accruals, Fair Values, FX Revaluations, Subledger postings) and regulatory standards (IFRS9, GAAP) in FPSL module.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in end‑to‑end DevOps lifecycle including design, build, test automation, deployment, monitoring, and performance tuning in SAP XSA environment.

  • Experience in integration of FPSL with upstream/downstream systems (core banking, GL, reporting systems, regulatory reporting)

  • Must have hands‑on experience in managing database concepts, performance optimization, and large volume subledger data processing in SAP HANA

  • Strong knowledge of sub‑ledger accounting design patterns, multi‑GAAP reporting, and parallel accounting requirements

  • Experience in using tools such as SAP Web IDE, ADO, Confluence, SharePoint, JIRA for delivery management.

  • Must have experience in design, development, and deployment governance to ensure technical alignment and compliance across distributed Agile teams (onshore–offshore)

  • Proven experience in resource management, capacity planning, hiring, and upskilling technical teams across FPSL programs.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, working with architects, auditors, and business sponsors to align delivery with strategic objectives.

  • Ability to manage program financials, risks, dependencies, and issue resolution while ensuring timely delivery with minimal post‑implementation issues.

  • Experience in banking domain processes and regulatory frameworks, with ability to design solutions meeting compliance and risk requirements.

  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.

  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.

  • Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.

  • Responsibility to review team structure/capacity plans.

  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.


Risk Management


  • Responsibilities relating to identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group, as well as an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them.

  • The ability to interpret the Group’s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.

  • All responsibilities under the Risk Management Framework – both execution and supervisory – should be referenced, for example, Act as the [Process] risk control owner under the Group’s Risk Management Framework (including relevant Operational Risk Framework ownership for [Liquidity] risk.


Governance


  • Responsibilities relating to the direction, planning, structure, frameworks (e.g. processes and policies) and oversight. For example, Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas; Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
