Job summary

Georg Fischer Piping Systems India is seeking an Application Engineer to support pre-sales and post-sales activities with technical expertise on GF products. You will interact with sales teams, distributors, consultants, and customers to ensure proper product selection and successful project execution.

The role involves preparing technical offers, sizing and configuring GF valves, pipes, fittings, and systems, and coordinating with customization and production teams for engineered solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in application engineering or piping systems.
• Strong understanding of piping systems, P&IDs and drawings.
• Experience with CAD tools and ERP systems; good communication skills.

Job description

This is a full-time role for an Application Engineer within Georg Fischer Piping Systems India. The role involves supporting both pre-sales and post-sales activities by providing technical expertise on GF products and solutions. The Application Engineer will interact closely with sales teams, distributors, consultants, and customers to ensure accurate product selection, seamless project execution, and high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Interpreting customer requirements, preparing technical proposals, generating Bills of Materials (BoM) from drawings, coordinating customized prefabrication, and supporting on-site activities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support sales teams by providing technical guidance on product selection and application engineering.
• Prepare technical offers, sizing, and configuration of GF valves, pipes, fittings, and systems based on project requirements.
• Coordinate with customization and production teams to deliver engineered solutions, including prefabrication and customized assemblies.
• Review and interpret customer drawings (P&IDs, isometrics, GA drawings) to derive accurate Bills of Materials.
• Assist in creating plant layout concepts and project-specific technical documents.
• Provide technical support during project execution, including site visits when required.
• Respond to technical inquiries from customers, consultants, and channel partners.
• Ensure technical accuracy and error-free submission of proposals and documents.
• Maintain alignment with GF standards, guidelines, and corporate values.
• Collaborate closely with sales managers to help nurture leads, support conversions, and enhance overall customer experience.
• Maintain relationships with Stakeholders to drive the customized project.
• Track Materials as per BOQ by working along with SCM team and identify key risks and mitigate them.

Qualifications & Other Requirements

• Education: B.E. or B.Tech. in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related engineering fields. A master’s degree or specialization in piping/industrial engineering will be an advantage.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in application engineering, proposals, piping systems, industrial equipment, or technical customer support.
• Strong understanding of piping systems, thermoplastics, industrial valves, P&IDs, and engineering drawings.
• Experience working with CAD tools, ERP systems.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings, site visits, and technical support.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of regional languages will be an added advantage.
• Team player with strong organizational skills and a customer‑centric mindset.
