Job summary

Aristocrat is seeking a Sr Animator II to create high-quality 3D assets, animations, and visual effects for slot games. You will work with designers and programmers to ensure seamless asset integration and optimize performance across productions.

The role requires strong Maya and After Effects skills, V-Ray lighting, and at least 7 years in game animation, preferably in casino gaming. Collaboration and mentoring abilities are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Animation, Multimedia, Fine Arts, Game Development, or related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in game animation, with slot/casino gaming experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Maya, After Effects, and V-Ray for production pipelines.
• Experience with asset optimization and animation pipelines.
• Experience with game engines is a plus.
• Familiarity with Photoshop and Illustrator desirable.
• Knowledge of version control and collaborative production workflows is an added advantage.

What You’ll Do

• Build high-quality 3D assets, animations, and visual effects for slot games.
• Develop and animate game symbols, characters, bonus features, and cinematic sequences.
• Develop 3D models, handle texturing and shading, configure lighting (V-Ray), rigging, and animate within Autodesk Maya.
• Develop smooth 2D animations and VFX through Adobe After Effects.
• Collaborate closely with Game Designers, Artists, Developers, and Technical Artists to ensure seamless asset integration.
• Optimize animation assets while maintaining visual quality and performance.
• Ensure animations meet project requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot animation and asset-related issues during production.
• Contribute creative ideas to improve gameplay visuals and player engagement.
• Mentor junior artists and provide guidance on animation guidelines when required.

What We’re Looking For

• High-level expertise in Autodesk Maya combined with a solid grasp of 3D Modeling, Texturing & Shading, V-Ray Lighting & Rendering, Character/Object Rigging, and Keyframe Animation.
• Advanced skills in Adobe After Effects, encompassing 2D Animation and Visual Effects (VFX).
• Experience with Particle Systems with Red Giant Trapcode, Symbol Animations, and sprite sheet or sequence-based animations is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Animation, Multimedia, Fine Arts, Game Development, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in game animation, with slot/casino gaming experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of animation pipelines and asset optimization.
• Experience working with game engines is a plus.
• Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is desirable.
• Knowledge of version control and collaborative production workflows is an added advantage.
