Responsibilities

  • Application support and infrastructure management.
  • Identify system gaps and execute service improvement plans.
  • Resolve complex incidents (L2/L3) and manage security incidents.
  • Monthly trending on root cause and implement fixes to prevent repeats.
  • Review incident tickets to fix issues permanently.
  • Provide training to up-skill staff on product and technical knowledge.
  • Engage with business & technology stakeholders for critical issues.
  • Ensure RCAs are performed for high severity issues.
  • Willingness to work in 24/7 shifts, including night shifts.
  • Provide workarounds requiring code fixes when needed.
  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE, IBM DB2, PostgreSQL, Shell scripting, AWS foundations.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy
Application Support
  • Application support and Infrastructure management.
  • Identify system Gaps. Prepare & execute the service Improvement plans.
  • To resolve complex (L2 / L3) incidents & manage security incidents.
  • Perform monthly trending on the root cause of tickets and provide sound resolutions to eliminate repeat problem tickets.
  • Regularly review the nature of incident tickets with a view to fix it permanently.
  • Consistently to provide training and coaching to up-skill the staffs on product and technical knowledge to handle problem tickets of a more complex nature.
  • Effective engagement with business & technology stakeholders for any critical issues.
  • Ensure RCAs are performed for high severity issues.
  • Flexible to work in shifts inclusive of night shifts being 24*7 application
  • Provide timely workaround solutions for failing issue pattern which requires source code fix
  • Should have adequate knowledge on Java, DB2, Postgres SQL, Shell scripts and AWS foundations.

  • Awareness and understanding the core business functionality of application quickly and adaptable to newer technologies

  • Adhere the PSS process followed by GBS group.
People & Talent
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Responsibility to review production capacity plans and incident trends
Risk Management
  • Being a role in production support requires the way in which the risk adherence is strictly followed as per group framework.
Governance
  • Identify system Gaps. Prepare & execute the service Improvement plans.
  • To resolve complex (L2 / L3) incidents & manage security incidents.
  • Perform monthly trending on the root cause of tickets and provide sound resolutions to eliminate repeat problem tickets.

Skills And Experience
To excel in this role, candidates should possess a strong technical foundation coupled with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. The ideal profile includes:
  • Proficiency in Java, J2EE frameworks, and development of RESTful APIs to support application functionalities.
  • Experience with SQL querying on IBM DB2 and PostgreSQL databases, alongside familiarity with Linux operating environments and Unix shell scripting.
  • Hands-on knowledge of AWS cloud services and foundational cloud concepts to support hybrid infrastructure management.
  • Exposure to automation and monitoring tools such as Control-M and Azure DevOps, as well as IT service management platforms like ServiceNow, enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical issues clearly and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills enabling efficient root cause analysis and solution design.
Individuals should be willing to work in 24/7 work environment and night shifts
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BE), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), or a Master's degree in Computer Science.
  • Relevant certifications in Java/J2EE technologies, AWS Cloud, SQL querying, or Linux system administration will be highly valued and considered an advantage.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in technical roles within 24x7 production support environments, demonstrating ability to solve complex problems.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and commitment to mastering emerging technologies and best practices.
