Job summary

Solventum is seeking an Indirect Procurement / Ariba Guided Buying Specialist to support, enable, and optimize indirect procurement using SAP Ariba Guided Buying and SAP S/4HANA. This role focuses on catalog enablement, supplier onboarding, buying channel configuration, user support, and operational incident management.

You will collaborate with Procurement, Finance, IT, and suppliers to ensure compliant, efficient purchasing across the enterprise, participating in UAT and end‑to‑end validation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of experience in indirect procurement, including requisitioning, catalog buying, and supplier enablement.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Ariba Guided Buying and its integration with SAP ERP/S4HANA.
• Knowledge of indirect procurement best practices, buying channels, and compliance controls.
• Experience supporting ERP or Ariba deployments and transformation initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively across functional, technical, and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary resource for SAP Ariba Guided Buying and indirect procurement processes.
• Configure and support buying channels, approval flows, catalogs, and non-catalog buying.
• Support supplier onboarding, catalog enablement, and content management.
• Investigate and resolve Guided Buying, requisitioning, and integration issues with S/4HANA.
• Partner with Category Managers to translate indirect buying requirements into system solutions.
• Support ERP and Ariba deployments, enhancements, and post‑go‑live stabilization.
• Participate in requirements gathering, design workshops, and solution validation sessions.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, controls, and audit requirements.

Role Overview The Indirect Procurement / Ariba Guided Buying Specialist is responsible for supporting, enabling, and optimizing indirect procurement processes through SAP Ariba Guided Buying, SAP S/4HANA, and related Source‑to‑Pay technologies. This role focuses on catalog enablement, supplier onboarding, buying channel configuration, user support, and operational incident management to ensure a seamless and compliant purchasing experience across the enterprise.

The Impact You’ll Make in This Role

As an Indirect Procurement / Ariba Guided Buying Specialist, you will help drive efficient and compliant buying experiences by:

• Serving as a functional and system specialist for Indirect Procurement processes, with a focus on SAP Ariba Guided Buying and SAP S/4HANA.
• Supporting deployment, stabilization, and continuous improvement of Guided Buying and indirect Source‑to‑Pay solutions.
• Enabling & maintaining catalogs, suppliers, & buying channels, ensuring usability, compliance, and optimal user experience.
• Providing operational & technical incident management & user support for Guided Buying and related procurement tools.
• Supporting supplier onboarding & enablement activities in SAP Business Network / Ariba, including documentation & training.
• Collaborating with Procurement, Finance, IT, GBS partners, and suppliers to resolve issues and improve indirect procurement operations.
• Participating in UAT, regression testing, and end‑to‑end scenario validation for Guided Buying enhancements and releases.
• Operating across multiple teams in a high‑visibility, fast‑paced environment to ensure continuity of indirect procurement operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Primary resource for SAP Ariba Guided Buying and indirect procurement processes.
• Configure and support buying channels, approval flows, catalogs (hosted, punch‑out), and non‑catalog buying.
• Support supplier onboarding, catalog enablement, and content management activities.
• Investigate and resolve Guided Buying, requisitioning, and integration issues with S/4HANA.
• Partner with Category Managers to translate indirect buying requirements into system solutions.
• Support ERP and Ariba deployments, enhancements, and post‑go‑live stabilization.
• Participate in requirements gathering, design workshops, and solution validation sessions.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, controls, and audit requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university; OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 8–10 years of experience in procurement operations and supporting IT solutions.
• 5+ years of experience in Indirect Procurement processes, including requisitioning, catalog buying, and supplier enablement.
• Hands‑on experience supporting SAP Ariba Guided Buying and its integration with SAP ERP (ECC or S/4HANA).
• Additional Qualifications (Preferred) Experience implementing or supporting SAP Ariba Buying, Guided Buying, or SAP Business Network.
• Knowledge of indirect procurement best practices, buying channels, and compliance controls.
• Experience supporting ERP or Ariba deployments and transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with integration approaches between Ariba and SAP S/4HANA.
• Exposure to data migration, cutover planning, and post‑go‑live support.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively across functional, technical, and business teams.
• Awareness of emerging trends and technologies in Indirect Procurement and digital buying experiences.
