Technology Service Specialist - Hydroprocessing and Renewables (Sr. Advanced Chemical Engineer)

An excellent career opportunity is available for a Technology Service Specialist within UOP Hydroprocessing & Renewables Technology Services Group (Technical Services) of UOP Honeywell India’s Energy and Sustainability Solutions (ESS) business unit, located in Gurugram, Haryana. The role focuses on completing the transfer of UOP Honeywell technology to ensure UOP‑licensed or UOP‑designed units operate safely and profitably, with regular interaction with external customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for UOP Honeywell Hydroprocessing and Renewable technologies.
• Engage with external customers—including licensees, EPC contractors, vendors and consultants—as well as internal UOP Honeywell teams (Field Services, Regional Services, R&D, Engineering, Business groups, Sales).
• Complete technology transfer to deliver UOP‑licensed or UOP‑designed units that operate optimally, profitably and safely, interacting regularly with customers and UOP personnel.
• Collaborate with all UOP Honeywell departments involved in technology delivery (CSO, R&D, TSE, Engineering).
• Provide interaction with other UOP Honeywell departments, gaining exposure to cross‑functional accountabilities and opportunities for career advancement.

Fixed Accountabilities

• Evaluate commercial operations and UOP’s Hydro‑processing technologies (Hydro‑treating, Hydro‑cracking, and renewable process units), assisting customers in achieving their goals.
• Participate in R&D technology development and improvement projects, bringing commercial perspectives and key data to the team.
• Champion changes and improvements in supported technologies through innovation.
• Serve as the focal point for office‑based support of new unit and revamped unit startups from pre‑commissioning through guarantee acceptance.
• Participate in customer meetings.
• Participate in Engineering review meetings for new units and revamps—including Design Basis, PFD, P&ID, MFD, Plot Plans, HAZOP, Model Reviews, and others.
• Provide both office‑based and on‑site troubleshooting/startup assistance to commercial units.
• Prepare and update general operating manuals, process technology manuals, and training materials; present UOP technology training courses in the US and abroad.
• Help prepare material for and participate in Technical Symposia and Sales Meetings.
• Work with the GSC team to review recommendations for the solution and suggest unit‑specific constraints to the team.

Qualifications

Basic Candidate Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech. degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering, field services, process operations or within the refining industry.

Additional Candidate Qualifications

• Experience in operation/design of UOP hydro‑processing units.
• At least 6 years of UOP FOS, UOP Engineering/Technical Services or equivalent refinery process operations/technical services experience.
• Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
