Job summary

NexionPro Services in Mumbai invites an experienced SQL Developer with Python to join our data and technology team. You will develop, optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and Python-based data processing scripts for large-scale datasets.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in SQL and Python, hands-on with SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL, ETL, data validation, and performance tuning. Hybrid work arrangement with office presence in Mumbai is offered.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and database scripts.
• Design and implement database solutions based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform SQL query optimization and performance tuning using indexing, execution plans, partitioning, joins, CTEs, and window functions.
• Develop Python scripts for data processing, automation, validation, reconciliation, and operational activities.
• Build and maintain data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
• Work with large datasets and perform data analysis, profiling, cleansing, and quality checks.
• Develop reusable Python modules and scripts for database and data-related automation.
• Integrate Python applications/scripts with relational databases using libraries such as SQLAlchemy, Pandas, or similar tools.
• Troubleshoot database, SQL, ETL, and Python-related issues in development and production environments.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend improvements to SQL queries, database structures, and data-processing workflows.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, consistency, and security across database processes.
• Collaborate with developers, data engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and technical documentation.
• Maintain technical documentation for database objects, scripts, processes, and data workflows.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SQL Developer with strong Python expertise to join our data and technology team. The candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, database solutions, and Python-based automation/data-processing scripts.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with SQL, relational databases, Python, ETL/data processing, performance tuning, and data validation. Experience working with large datasets and production environments will be an advantage.

Required Skills

• 4–8 years of hands-on experience in SQL development and database programming.


• Strong proficiency in SQL and advanced query writing.


• Strong experience with any one or more RDBMS:


• SQL Server


• Oracle


• MySQL


• Strong knowledge of Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, Triggers, CTEs, Subqueries, Joins, and Window Functions.


• Hands-on experience with SQL Query Optimization and Performance Tuning.


• Strong Python programming and scripting skills.


• Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, SQLAlchemy, or equivalent.


• Experience in data extraction, transformation, validation, and automation using Python.


• Good understanding of database design, normalization, indexing, partitioning, and data modeling.


• Experience working with large volumes of data.


• Good troubleshooting and analytical/problem-solving skills.


• Knowledge of Git/version control.


• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or similar.


• Exposure to AWS / Azure / GCP data services.


• Knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or Azure Synapse.


• Experience with REST APIs and data integration.


• Knowledge of Linux/Unix and shell scripting.


• Exposure to Power BI / Tableau.


• Experience in Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, or other data-intensive domains.


• Knowledge of CI/CD and automated deployment practices.
