Job summary

Godrej Infotech Ltd is seeking a SQL DBA in Mumbai to manage medium to large databases in a multi-server environment. The role focuses on monitoring, backups, HA Always On, and incident response, with collaboration across L2/L3 DBAs.

The candidate should have 2–5 years of SQL Server DBA experience, work with SQL Server 2012–2019, and handle critical escalations. Male candidates only are requested for this opening.

Responsibilities

• Monitor database instances.
• Monitor and analyze resource allocation.
• Install & configure SQL Server with upgrades/fixes; ensure online status and connectivity.
• Check error logs and escalate critical errors to L2 DBA; verify backups.
• Ensure backups (full, differential, log) run correctly.
• Address open tickets/issues within SLA.
• Ensure no SQL Server job fails and follow SOPs for failures.
• Monitor server health (space, CPU, memory).
• Acknowledge emails within SLA and escalate if needed.
• Join bridge calls for P1/P2 incidents with L2/L3 DBAs.
• Respond to SQL DB alerts and take action.
• Work on DB refresh activities; support development; cover MySQL/PostgreSQL as add-on.

Key Requirements

Experience SQL Server 2012 / 2014 / 2016 / 2017 / 2019

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitoring database instances.
• Monitoring and analyzing resources allocation
• Install & configure SQL Server software with upgrades/ fixes Check to make sure the SQL Server is online and connectivity is working fine.
• Check error logs and if found any critical errors then escalte to L2 DBA Ensure all (Full, differential and log)backups are running fine.
• Check open tickets/issues and be sure issues/requests are addressed within SLA.
• Ensure that no SQL Server job has failed and follow the SOPs if any job is failing.
• Check the general health of the server (space, CPU utilization, memory) to confirm there are no issues.
• Acknowledge every mail within SLA and if required escalated to senior DBA.
• Join bridge calls for P1(SEV1) and P2 (SEV2) incidents along with L2/L3 DBAs.
• Make sure to respond to all the SQL DB alerts and take proper action.
• Work on DB Refresh activity Work with DBA team to provide support to development team Support open-source database platforms like MYSQL, PostGreSQL would be an add on
