Job summary

Citi in Pune, India is seeking an intermediate SQL Database Developer to contribute to the design and implementation of database solutions in coordination with the Technology team.

You will work on data modeling, SQL Server/Oracle procedures, and tuning, while collaborating with global teams across New York and London to deliver high-quality, scalable data platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data/Database/Data Warehouse.
• Analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Strong communication with business and global teams.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, EE, Mathematics or related.
• Financial knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Hands data model design in SQL (SQL Server and Oracle) and code stored procedures.
• 3-tier microservices for OLTP application development and maintenance.
• Performance tuning of SQL Server.
• Investigate and troubleshoot production Jobs in AutoSys.
• Hands on data quality improvement and collaboration with global business.
• Deliver high-quality work and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with counterparty teams in New York, London, and other locations.
• Communicate requirements and technical details with global dev teams.
• Take ownership to resolve difficult issues.

The SQL Database Developer is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Job Responsibilities

• Hands data model design in SQL (Primary SQL server and Secondary Oracle) design and code on the store procedure to implement the business knowledge.
• Experience with 3- tier micro services based on OLTP application development and maintenance.
• Performance tuning of the SQL Server based on solutions and procedures.
• Investigate and troubleshoot the production Jobs configured in Job scheduler AutoSys.
• Hands on data quality improvement and communication with global business for supporting.
• Deliver high-quality work and consistently meets requirements and standards, plans and prioritizes work well to meet deadlines.
• Involving into or do system/component design & implementation with counterparty in New York, London, and other locations.
• Communicate with global dev counterparty/teams for the requirements and technical details.
• Takes ownership to resolve difficult issues, even when not clearly within own area of responsibility

Have a Bachelor/master's degree in computer science, EE, Mathematics or related majors

With Financial knowledge or background is a plus

Required Technical Skills

Must be familiar with MS SQL Server(T-SQL).

Must be familiar with program on store procedure for script coding.

Familiar with Database performance tuning process and approach.

Experience on Gen-AI training and GitHub Copilot agent mode in use is a plus.

Experience in Git and Linux command lines

Familiar with Python Experience on data analytics area is a plus. Familiar with Java and No SQL DB like Elasticsearch DB or MongoDB.

Required Non-Technical Skills

5+ years working experience on Data/Database/Data Warehouse area

Demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skillset for simple and easy interaction Business and Global Dev team
