Job summary

Ericsson in Chennai, India is seeking an experienced IMS/5G Core Specialist to manage delivery of assigned projects for customers. You will lead IMS 5G Core performance planning, optimize networks, and perform KPI-driven improvements in multi-vendor environments.

The role requires hands-on expertise with Ericsson Core components and strong troubleshooting, plus capability to guide customers through design, upgrades, and implementations.

Qualifications

• Strong IMS Voice network experience with hands-on tracing and analysis.
• Architecture and interfaces for Ericsson Core network elements (IMS, Fixed Voice, MSC, MGW, HSS, CUDB, STP).
• Subject matter expertise on operator networks (IMS, Cloud core) and E2E network concepts.
• Knowledge of IMS/5G Core nodes (SBG, CSCF, TAS; MME, AMF, PCC, SGW/PGW, SMF, UPF, PCG).
• Good communication skills and team leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day project outcomes for the customer.
• Lead IMS 5G Core performance management and design planning for large CSPs.
• Tune parameters and optimize per subscriber base.
• Conduct QoS, capacity audits and KPI analysis.
• Support RFP discussions, BoQ finalization and ordering.
• Lead 5G Core/IMS Cloud Core discussions in customer calls.

About this opportunity

Looking an experienced IMS / 5G Core Specialist with deep expertise in Ericsson IMS platforms (SBG, CSCF, MTAS, BGF) and 5G Core technologies (PCC and PCG). The ideal candidate will have strong experience in network planning, design, deployment, and KPI-driven optimization within multi-vendor telecom environments.

What you will do

• Accountable for day-to-day delivery of the assigned project towards customer.
• Handle Lead IMS 5G Core Performance Management and Design Planning scope for large CSPs.
• Optimizing network as per customer subscriber base Perform parameters tuning etc.
• Perform QoS , parameter , capacity audit as per customer requirement.
• KPI analysis and recommendation to improve customer satisfaction.
• Perform upgrade and new installation.
• Troubleshooting, Analysis, Impact Report and Customer Handling
• Support in RFP discussion, BoQ finalization , Ordering etc.
• Leading 5G Core, IMS Cloud Core in Customer calls governances.

The skills you bring

• Strong IMS Voice network experience. With hands-on skills in tracing
• Strong skills on Architecture and Interfaces for Ericsson Core network elements IMS, Fixed Voice, MSC, MGW, BC, HSS, CUDB, STP, DSC etc.
• Subject matter expertise on operator network (IMS, Fixed Voice, Cloud core, CUDB) and understanding.
• Strong Technical Knowledge on IMS and 5GCore Network and idea of E2E network. IMS Core Nodes (SBG, CSCF, TAS etc), MME, AMF, PCC, SGW, PGW, SMF, UPF, PCG, DNS,SMSC,MIO, and NFVi .
• Candidate should have strong troubleshooting skills on IMS / CS Core network. - Should have team handling experience.
• Experience in 5GC, cloud is added advantage
• A detailed knowledge of Ericssons existing and future product/services portfolio, roadmap information and system integration practices
• Skillful application of management information systems to the unit SDU Optimize.
• Need to know the automation concepts.
• Good Communication skills.
