Job summary

Citi in India is seeking a Senior Analytics Specialist to join the Decision Management group. The role applies in-depth analytics to large datasets, builds models, and guides strategic decisions.

You will mentor junior analysts and coordinate with data engineers, risk, and marketing teams to implement data-driven solutions. A strong quantitative background and excellent communication are essential; experience with SQL and data visualization is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in analytics or data science.
• Advanced analytic ability and problem solving skills to address business questions with data-driven solutions.
• Ability to build partnerships with cross-functional teams across departments.
• Experience in a quantitative field, preferably in financial services.

The Specialized Analytics Sr Anlst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities

• Incumbents work with large and complex data sets (both internal and external data) to evaluate, recommend, and support the implementation of business strategies
• Identifies and compiles data sets using a variety of tools (e.g. SQL, Access) to help predict, improve, and measure the success of key business to business outcomes
• Responsible for documenting data requirements, data collection / processing / cleaning, and exploratory data analysis; which may include utilizing statistical models / algorithms and data visualization techniques
• Incumbents in this role may often be referred to as Data Scientists
• Specialization in marketing, risk, digital and AML fields possible
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience
• Must have the ability to retrieve and manipulation data
• Advanced analytic ability and problem solving skills to proactively address business questions with innovative data driven solutions
• Ability to build partnerships with cross-functional teams in order
• Working experience in a quantitative field, Financial/Credit Card industry
• Willing to learn and can-do attitude
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be organized, detail oriented, flexible and adaptive to matrix work environment

Education

• Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience
