Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy secure technology solutions in an agile environment. You’ll work on Java full-stack development, microservices, and cloud-based services, with a focus on scalable APIs and data-driven applications.

Formación

• Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.
• Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, MIS, or related degree.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyses, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.
• Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
• Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
• Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
• Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.
• Additional responsibilities may include collaboration across teams and adherence to company standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree.
• Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
• Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.
• Technical Skills: CI/CD Cloud Computing Programming Languages Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Software Engineering Software Security Software Testing Systems Integration
• Soft Skills & Attributes: Strong communication and collaboration skills Analytical and problem-solving mindset Ability to work in agile and global environments Time management and prioritization Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
