Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in India to deliver high-quality Java full-stack solutions. You will build robust APIs, microservices, and cloud-native components, collaborating with global teams across Agile frameworks.

The role covers secure coding, DevSecOps practices, performance tuning, and advanced AI/LLM integrations. Hybrid/remote options enable collaboration with the India Technology team.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate studies in computer science, MIS, or related degree.
• Two or more years of analysis and technology experience.
• Familiar with SDLC, Agile environments and collaboration across teams.
• Knowledge of Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript is a plus.

Job Description Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you’ll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

Job Description Key Responsibilities

• Analyses, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards and best practices.
• Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
• Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
• Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
• Manages project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.
• Additional responsibilities may include collaboration across teams and adherence to company standards.
• May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree.
• Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
• Experience: Two or more years of analysis and technology experience.
