Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in Navi Mumbai seeks a Senior SME – Process to lead specialist process design and industrial projects. You will engage with clients, drive engineering strategy, and mentor team members while ensuring quality across concept, basic, FEED and detailed phases.

The role requires deep knowledge across semiconductor, PV, EV, and chemicals, with strong layout, 3D modelling and cost control skills. Hybrid work flexibility is offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering from a reputed institute.
• In-depth expertise in chemical/speciality fields and related processes.
• Experience in semiconductor, EV/ PV/ electronics/ life sciences manufacturing environments.

Your impact

The SME – Process is generally assigned to a project as someone with specialist skills acquired on the job or through formal qualifications in the field of Chemical/ Speciality chemicals/ EV/ PV/ Electronics/ Pharmaceutical/ Life Sciences facilities and equipment. He/ She should be aware of Engineering, inspection, Fabrication and Manufacturing. He/she is responsible for client interactions to understand their needs and requirements, creating conceptual options, presentations and getting an “buy in” from clients on an option to proceed further. He/she is also responsible for ensuring that the Company and Group’s technical policies are followed, considering any special contractual requirements.

• Engages in all engineering management activities assigned to him.
• Takes initiatives for successful delivery of services within the department and operates with minimum guidance.
• Participates and Represents Jacobs in all Client facing and critical meetings to provide solutions to meet project objectives
• Lead design strategy and innovation for the team and work closely with Technical Directors, technical leaders and Head of Capability.
• Mentors, trains & encourages resources within his discipline which are assigned to him to achieve desired project objectives.
• Should have a very strong knowledge and go-to expert for industrial, speciality chemicals, semiconductor, PV solar cell, ingot & wafer, and EV battery manufacturing processes and thorough understanding of various Equipment along with latest Technologies.
• Should have a very strong knowledge on layout, 3D modelling, Utility, Process, Static, Warehouse, Packaging, Material Handling, Water treatment Equipment’s. He should have knowledge of all engineering phases like Concept, Basic, FEED, Detailed engineering, Installation & Commissioning support and Costing.
• Ensure that all work is in compliance with the Client’s Standards and Engineering Practices as described in the Project Co-ordination Procedure.
  • Should possess Expert knowledge on Area classification, Codes & standards, calculations, and man material flow concepts.
  • Able to work as an individual contributor to select and size Equipment and its accessories. Presentations to clients with little or no input from other disciplines at the Feasibility and concept phases.
  • Should possess Expert knowledge on the following systems: such as Ultra purity Gases (Hydrogen, Argon, Helium, Oxygen); Specialty Gases (Silane, Ammonia, Nitrous Oxide, BCl3); Specialty Chemicals (Fertilizers, Ammonia, Agrochemicals, Hydrofluoric acid, Hydrogen peroxide); Semiconductor (ATMP, OSAT, FAB); Solar Photovoltaic (Solar Cell, Ingot wafer, polysilicon) and Electric Battery (Lithium Ion - Cathode and Anode).
  • Should have in depth knowledge on latest codes & standard i.e. IS, ISO, EN, NFPA, API, ASME, ANSI, FSSAI, SEMI, NPFA, EHS, EHDGE, NBC, IBR, PESO, CCOE, CPCB, OSHA, AHRI, HSE, GEP, Guidelines. Should be aware of regulatory requirements of different states.
  • Monitor and control Productivity of the Assigned group of Project/Sector.
  • Monitor and Control Project schedule of the Assigned group of Project/Sector.
  • Sharing the Knowledge with team Members and upgrading Discipline Database.
  • Adherence to Department Work Instruction and QMs Manual.
  • Responsible for the performance of Team assigned

• Degree in Chemical Engineering from a reputed institute.
• He requires in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline and broad knowledge of other job disciplines within the organization function
• He should Solves unique and complex problems.
• Drive and ensure all documentation within the scope of discipline is prepared, checked, reviewed, and approved in accordance with the Discipline Working Instructions and Discipline approval Matrix, ETVP.
• Evaluate and Approve Deliverables as per the Discipline Approval Matrix.
• Ensure training & development of people assigned to him, as necessary for the execution of the Sector / project.
• Ensure the timely completion of all project specifications, designs and drawings for project assigned.
• Carry out review of vendor’s bids and drawings / documentation for technical acceptability.
• Should possess an extensive hands‑on experience in semiconductor manufacturing, wafer fabrication, and/or ingot growing/wafering processes in a high-volume production environment / project.
• Should have experience of design consulting organization either working currently or in the past in Industrial Projects.
• SME should have a good understanding of facility design and/or operation.
• Should possess knowledge of layout, 3D modelling, Utility, Process, Static, Warehouse, Packaging, Nonstandard, Material Handling, Bulk material handling & transfer, Water treatment Equipment’s.
• Should Possess knowledge of all engineering phases like Concept, Basic, FEED, Detailed engineering, Installation & Commissioning support and Costing.
• Contributes to the development of functional strategy.
• Leads project teams to achieve milestones and objectives.
• Guiding and mentoring teams.
• Handled client interface independently.
• He should possess a knowledge of PID/PFD.
• Should be able to carry out Capacity Calculations for better Utilisation of equipment.
• Should understand General process requirements and possess an expert knowledge on equipment selection for Chemical/Speciality chemicals/ EV/ PV/ Electronics/ Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences plants.
