Job summary

Siemens invites applications for an Electrical Engineer to conduct EMT and power system studies, prepare comprehensive PS reports, and contribute technical input to project decisions. You will develop engineering philosophies and techno-economic analyses to back engineering choices.

Based in India with roles across Mumbai/Gurgaon/Bangalore/Kolkata, you’ll collaborate with teams affecting cities and utilities, delivering reliable, efficient energy solutions.

Qualifications

• BE/M.Tech/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant power system experience.
• Knowledge of steady-state, dynamic, protection and harmonics analysis.
• Familiarity with IEC/ANSI standards for power system studies.
• Experience with PSS SINCAL, PSS E, ETAP and PSCAD.

Responsibilities

• Perform EMT, insulation coordination and VFTO studies as required.
• Prepare Power System Study Reports for projects.
• Provide technical input to project decision making processes.
• Develop engineering philosophies and specifications when needed.
• Produce techno-economic studies to support engineering decisions.
• Follow up and assist in acquiring orders and ensuring timely execution.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Electromagnetic Transient (EMT), Insulation Coordination, VFTO studies as per the requirements
• Prepare Power System Study Report.
• Provide technical expertise into project decision making process.
• Develop Philosophies and Engineering Specifications if required as per project.
• Produce Techno-Economic studies to back up Engineering decisions.
• Follow up & acquire orders, ensure timely execution of orders as per customer requirements & achieve business goals

Desired Qualification & Experience:

• BE/M.Tech/MS Electrical Engineer..
• Experience of around 3-5 years
• Knowledge of power system studies like Steady state, Dynamic, Protection, Harmonic etc.
• Knowledge of various IEC and ANSI standards for power system studies
• Specific experience of power system analysis tools like PSS®SINCAL, PSS®E, ETAP and PSCAD
