Job summary

NHS Borders invites applications for a Specialist Biomedical Scientist/ Trainee in Clinical Chemistry at Borders General Hospital. The post is a permanent 36-hour per week position, banded at 5/6. Band 6 requires HCPC registration and completion of an IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Clinical Chemistry.

Applicants without the Specialist portfolio will be placed on Band 5 until completed, with progression on competency. Interviews will be held on site Monday 5 October.

An opportunity has arisen for self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at NHS Borders. Band 6 candidates must be HCPC registered and have completed an IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Clinical Chemistry.

Candidates who do not have their Specialist portfolio will be placed on the Band 5 scale until it is completed.

You will be required to take part in the 24/7 shift pattern on completion of competencies.

The Borders General Hospital sits in a beautiful rural setting with a train link to Edinburgh within walking distance.
