Gurgaon, India

We are seeking an actuarial specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in performing reserve valuations, and financial reporting. The candidate will also have the opportunity to be involved in multiple projects from time to time-related to global reserving, planning, PC analytics and other actuarial projects. This role demands a good understanding of actuarial principles, excellent analytical skills, the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team and the flexibility to work on multiple projects at the same time.

What youll be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include

  • Perform actuarial analysis for a line of business for quarterly/Half-year/annual valuations for the companys reserves to ensure they are sufficient to meet future obligations.
  • Ensure adherence to internal guidelines and processes in all the analysis and results.
  • Utilize actuarial methods and models to analyze loss development patterns and estimate required reserves.
  • Prepare detailed reserve reports and present findings to the line of business actuary on the claims experience, methods and assumptions used.
  • Perform additional analysis in business specific issues considering latest market environment.
  • Stay updated with changes in regulatory guidelines and ensure the companys actuarial practices remain compliant.
  • Provide actuarial support for various strategic initiatives as well as other actuarial team activities/tasks as needed.
  • Conduct ad-hoc actuarial analyses as required by management or regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and collaborate with other departments to achieve business objectives.

You will report to Reserving Actuary, AFR.

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelors degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Relevant years of experience in an PC insurance and/or actuarial consultancy is required.
  • Minimum 8 to 9 actuarial exams from a recognized actuarial body.
  • Relevant actuarial experience covering international market.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Technical expertise in SQL, SAS, or VBA would be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work resiliently and as part of a team.
