Job summary

BNY Mellon in Pune seeks a Specialist 2 (SP2) to join our OCFO Controllers – R2R General Accounting team. You’ll contribute to month-end close, reconcile balances, and ensure accurate intercompany postings while adhering to GAAP.

The role requires extensive ERP experience (PeopleSoft/Oracle), strong Excel and BI skills, and the ability to work with cross‑functional teams. You will also explore AI tools to simplify finance processes and improve controls.

Qualifications

• 6 to 10 years of experience in Record to Report (R2R).
• B. Com with 6+ years / M. Com/ MBA with 4+ years / CWA-Inter/ CA-Inter with 3+ years or CA/CMA Fresher.
• Experience in ERP (PeopleSoft/Oracle) and reconciliation tools; Blackline adds value.
• Good knowledge of GL balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
• MS Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint proficiency; familiarity with AI tools.
• Client handling experience, preferably with overseas clients.

Responsibilities

• Month end close and balance sheet substantiation.
• Provision and reserve calculations, FX and multi-currency revaluation.
• Identify, age, and resolve reconciling items and variances with stakeholders.
• Journal entries including prepaid amortization and intercompany postings.
• Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with Corporate Accounting Policies and GAAP.
• Adopt AI tools to streamline finance processes.

Job description

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Specialist 2 (SP2) to join our OCFO Controllers – R2R General Accounting team. This role is located in Pune.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• Excellent Knowledge and expertise in Month end close, Balance Sheet Substantiation, provision and reserve, FX calculation and Multi currency revaluation process.

• Knowledge and experience in Identification, aging and resolution of reconciling items / variances / open items. Proactively work with stakeholders for timely clearance, resolution of reconciliation variance & aged outstanding items.

• In-depth knowledge in Accrual & Prepaid concept and Golden rules of accounting.

• Expertise in Journal entries process for prepaid amortization, accruals and journal entries involving Intercompany transaction using Affiliates.

• Good knowledge and expertise in preparing and reviewing general ledger balance sheet account reconciliations.

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the assigned area of responsibility within the reconciliation process.

• Support Manager / Operation Manager to ensure recons are compliant with applicable Corporate Accounting Policies and GAAP.

• Learn and adapt new AI tools and technologies to simplify the finance processes.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• 6 to 10 years of experience in Record to Report (R2R).

• Should have experience in ERP (PeopleSoft/Oracle) other reconciliation tools (Blackline experience adds value).
• Good knowledge and expertise in various Sub systems modules and how this impacts the General ledger. Experience in TLM open item clearing will be an added advantage.
• Should have experience in Client handling (preferably Overseas Clients).
• Good knowledge and experience in MS-Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint presentations.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Co-pilot and other AI tools.
