Job summary

BNY is seeking a Specialist 2 for the OCFO Controllers – R2R General Accounting team in Pune. The role focuses on month-end close, balance sheet substantiation, reconciliations, intercompany entries, and applying AI tools to streamline processes.

The candidate should have 6–10 years of R2R experience, relevant qualifications (B.Com/M.Com/MBA/CA/CMA routes), and hands-on ERP experience (PeopleSoft/Oracle) along with Excel, Power BI, and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience in Record to Report (R2R).
• Qualification as listed: B.Com/M.Com/MBA with the specified years or CA/CMA routes.
• Experience with ERP platforms (PeopleSoft/Oracle) and reconciliation tools is required.
• Good knowledge of GL reconciliation processes and intercompany transactions.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close, balance sheet substantiation, provisions and reserves, FX calculation, and multi-currency revaluations.
• Identify aging/reconciliation variances and drive timely resolution with stakeholders.
• Prepare and review general ledger balance sheet reconciliations.
• Act as SME for the reconciliation process and ensure compliance with policy and GAAP.
• Explore and adopt AI tools to streamline finance processes.

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Specialist 2 (SP2) to join our OCFO Controllers – R2R General Accounting team. This role is located in Pune.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• Excellent Knowledge and expertise in Month end close, Balance Sheet Substantiation, provision and reserve, FX calculation and Multi currency revaluation process.
• Knowledge and experience in Identification, aging and resolution of reconciling items / variances / open items. Proactively work with stakeholders for timely clearance, resolution of reconciliation variance & aged outstanding items.
• In-depth knowledge in Accrual & Prepaid concept and Golden rules of accounting.
• Expertise in Journal entries process for prepaid amortization, accruals and journal entries involving Intercompany transaction using Affiliates.
• Good knowledge and expertise in preparing and reviewing general ledger balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the assigned area of responsibility within the reconciliation process.
• Support Manager / Operation Manager to ensure recons are compliant with applicable Corporate Accounting Policies and GAAP.
• Learn and adapt new AI tools and technologies to simplify the finance processes.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• 6 to 10 years of experience in Record to Report (R2R).
• Qualification - B. Com with 6+years / M. Com/ MBA with 4+ years / CWA-Inter/ CA-Inter with 3+ years or CA/CMA Fresher.
• Should have experience in ERP (PeopleSoft/Oracle) other reconciliation tools (Blackline experience adds value).
• Good knowledge and expertise in various Sub systems modules and how this impacts the General ledger. Experience in TLM open item clearing will be an added advantage.
• Should have experience in Client handling (preferably Overseas Clients).Good knowledge and experience in MS-Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint presentations.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Co-pilot and other AI tools.
