Job Description
Conceptualization and Project Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize software solutions that address specific Engineering / R&D challenges.
- Leads Windchill PLM and other Engineering tools (Creo / Catia, ACAD) deployment projects from inception to completion. Works with GCITO and facilitates project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each project.
- Lead the planning and project management of software development initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
- Drive the end-to-end project lifecycle.
Design and Validation:
- Architect innovative software solutions that optimize Engineering / R&D processes, enhance productivity, and foster collaboration.
- Ensure that the designed software solutions align with industry best practices, security standards, and scalability requirements.
- Conduct rigorous validation processes to ensure the quality, functionality, and reliability of developed software applications.
Troubleshooting and Continuous Improvement:
- Take a proactive approach to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues that may arise during software development and deployment.
- Perform root cause analysis of recurring problems, implement corrective actions, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning by staying updated on emerging technologies and recommending innovative solutions.
User Engagement and Support:
- Collaborate with end-users and stakeholders to understand their requirements, gather feedback, and tailor software solutions accordingly.
- Organize and facilitate training sessions to ensure end-users are proficient in utilizing new software tools effectively.
- Provide user support by addressing queries, concerns, and incidents in a timely manner, aiming to enhance user satisfaction.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering / R&D professionals, to align software development with Engineering/ R&D objectives and priorities.
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of Engineering Tools like PLM and ALM systems.
- Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to ensure successful deployment of engineering tools like Catia / Creo / Solidworks etc.
- Customize configurations to meet specific organizational needs.
System Administration:
- Coordinate with IT Infra team for proper management of engineering Tools (PLM / ALM) systems and ensuring optimal performance.
- Implement user access controls, security protocols, and data integrity measures.
- Provide technical support to end-users and troubleshoot issues.
- Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures.
Training and Documentation:
- Conduct training sessions for end-users on Engineering Tools/ system functionalities.
- Create and maintain documentation for system processes, workflows, and best practices.
Skills:
- Intermediate level of relevant work experience, including team leadership experience, required.
- Should have 8-10 years relevant experience. Project Manager experience will be a plus.
- Should have experience as a Project Manager with Software deployment, delivery of transformation projects.
- IT Operations Management setting up of projects, documentation, deliverables, end to end implementation of projects.
- PLM – Windchill/Thingworx, Any other tool experience Proven experience in implementing and managing Engineering Tools like PLM and ALM systems.
- Strong knowledge of relevant technologies, such as PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, Jira, and other ALM tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving.
