Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India Private Limited is seeking a Spare Parts Engineering Specialist to define and create spare parts for vehicle assemblies, manage part supersessions, and resolve documentation queries. The role requires coordinating with Logistics and Technical teams, ensuring deliverables meet SLA, and driving continuous improvement within the department.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Working knowledge of PDM systems and part lifecycle management.
• German language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Define and create spare parts for vehicle assemblies.
• Establish part supersessions via engineering change notes and 3D/doc updates.
• Resolve queries related to spare parts documentation to ensure accuracy.
• Own end-to-end spare parts definition and creation deliverables.

• Monitor progress and ensure task completion within the SLA.
• Manage projects, resource planning, and align work with department strategy.
• Ensure KPIs of projects are tracked and targets met per yearly agreements.

• Participate in innovation and continuous improvement activities.

Description

You will be responsible for:

• Spare parts definition & creation for various vehicle assemblies.
• Establish part supersessions by analyzing engineering change notes, 3D and documentation updates.
• Resolve technical queries related to spare parts documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Own end-to-end spare parts definition & creation deliverables.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders (Logistics and Technical teams) to clarify requirements and resolve queries.
• Monitor the team's progress and ensure task completion within the agreed SLA.
• Additionally, you carry responsibility for committed projects, resource-planning and aligning work with respect to the department strategy, maintaining Quality, Cost, Time.
• You will need to ensure KPI of the projects are monitored, tracked and targets achieved as per yearly agreements.
• QMS standards are followed, tracked, and monitored on a regular basis.
• You will have to connect with all stakeholders regularly for partner engagement and, when required, escalation management.
• You will be expected to participate in Innovation and continuous improvement activities.
• You should be improving your competency over time.
• Strong expertise in engineering change management, including variant control and BOM management.
• Working knowledge of product data management (PDM) systems and part lifecycle management.
